this possibly a bad contact on the panel board, thats why the system
malfunction by itself. better to check on the every switch contact and
clean for any moisture on the board.
1-your thermostate is stuck open half way. thermostate is a simple device that made of enlarging metals when heat is applied. it suposed to be in close position to allow engine heat up, when specified temp reached it opens and let it flow and radiator tries to keep coolant cool.when it is broken it stucks or it acts slow or it wont acts at all. in your situation it is stuck open half way. it allows enough water to be heated but flow is limited to heat cabin heater.
2-if there are cabin heater selenoid/selenoids for two different temperature for cabin left and right, on some instance those selenoid valves to adjust cabin heater stuck open or closed like thermostate acts on first case. so heat is not enough to heat up cabin heater.
Not enough airflow caused by blockage in the exhaust vent pipe.(most common) Check for strong airflow coming out of the back of machine, then check for good airflow at exterior vent. Clean vent if airflow is restricted.
a bad the thermostate could be not opening at all thus overheating the engine ,it should be replace with a new thermostate.click on the blue hand if I was helpful thanks.
There are thermostates the will stick in the open postion1 this will cause you not to get heat if that is the issue. Air in the cooling system will cause this too. Or low coolant check your coolant level!
checked for loss of water? and check oil for tan color
indicating a water /oil mix .
any white smoke at the tailpipe?
and last maybe thermostat sensor is connected with no shorts.
dear sharil you havent gave to much info about your heating problem. the most common cause for this prblem would a stuck thermostate,or a bad waterpump. but iwould replace thermostate first. not a big job but just a small warning after replacing thermostate and replacing antifreeze be sure to bleed air from system. a little bleed screw is located near the thermostate housing for this purpose
