Hoo i put a downloaded song as my ringtone.

Hi,
1- Download iTunes from www.itunes.com and install it.
2- Connect your iPhone to your computer... a few seconds later your iPhone will apear on itunes.
3- Click on it and go to the Ringtone tab and select a ringtone from your library.

Method 1:
Transfer the song(s) you want to set as ringtones onto the microSD card either by connecting to pc via USB or using an SD adapter. Next, Tap on the Music Player, open the music list, press the menu button and select PLAY ALL, this will scan your SD card for music/audio files. Once all your songs have been added to the list, select the song you want to set as ringtone and click MENU key, choose SET AS RINGTONE and that will take you to the RIngtone Trimmer, make the ringtone 30 seconds or less, select Trim and you're done.

Method 2:

Root your HTC Hero, create a directory in your C: drive and name it HeroRIngtones, HTC, or whatever and put there all the ringtones you want to be added (30 seconds or less), then open Command Prompt; make sure your device is connected and already visible. Run the following command "adb push directoryname/myringtone.mp3 /system/media/audio/ringtones" and press enter. Do same procedure for all the audio files you want to set as ringtones.

Method 2 is not available for non-root users.

Don't worry.

Could you tell me if there are any songs in your cell phone.If there are songs in it,you can set it.Find the songs you want to set as ringtones,then choose the option"transmit",and find the option"To the user profile".Just doing these,the setting is finished.

But if there aren't any songs in your cell phone,you may need download some.Then you can set it as the above.

I've never received ringtones via bluetooth, but I do know Samsung made it ridiculously hard to customize your ringtones on the Rant. The only way I know of to do it, other than going online on the phone and downloading ringtones there, is to use a site like Myxer to send the songs you want directly to your phone.

You cannot use the songs you purchase from Vcast as ringtones. You have to actually own the music on your computer and transfer it to your phone. Than you will be able to use that song as a ringtone. Just hit highlight the song and hit menu than set as ringtone.

Cut or copy the songs from the folder you have saved it and then put it in the my Ringtones folder and same would come into ur drop down list for the ringtones.

The lock indicates that the song is protected, or locked and cannot be transferred or deleted. Where did the music come from? If you downloaded it from a ringtone site, or your company, try downloading them again. It also may be a memory error, if you have too many photos / videos, it will effect the audio and ringtones on the device. Best of Luck.
