Your motherboard is complaining. Try reseating the memory and rebooting. If that doesn't help, you should consider another motherboard. You could probably get away with just replacing the CPU, but that's not too cost-effective. Its just time to upgrade!

Continuous beeps, no display

Usually continuous beeps from an hp means the power supply unit is acting up.It is not switching on the power required for the mobo to boot up. Could also be ram prob but then the beeps tend to have a break b4 repeating. try booting with HDs disconnected. If no result. clean rams teeth with a eraser and try again. If still beeping try another power supply unit. It does not have to be identical similar will do. Once you isolate the cause of the non boot you can decide if you want to do a patch work repair or fix with originals

Compac computer won't turn on and the power light blinks constantly what can i do to fix this problem

Does it beep? if it does, whats the beep pattern...ie long long short, or short short short

if nothing else, something is causing a short...check the usb ports (real common) the contacts break from wear and short out, have your power supply tested.

The computer repeats 4 short beeps constantly when turned on ... power supply light is green and also motherboard light is green

Hello, depends on which make of bios you have. If you're lucky it's a keyboard error, but take a look at this page of bios beep codes.http://www.5starsupport.com/info/beep_codes.htm

PC will not boot up. Almost did once but screen went black. Reboot doesn't help. No green light on monitor and PC makes a long slow beep over and over. I have recovery discs but when put it nothing...

Based on your description of your problem, my educated guess is that you have a problem with the system board or motherboard. Checking Compaq support site, it says that beeps are generally heard when a hardware device is not connected properly or has failed.

First thing to try is disconnect the keybaord and mouse and try to start the computer again. What we are trying to do is find out which hardware device might be involved. So start with the keyboard an mouse. If the computer still does not start, remove any periferal drives, like floppy or cd drives.

There are several beep codes, below are a few examples listed:

Beep codes common to HP and Compaq Desktop PCs The following beep codes are common to many HP and Compaq desktop computers. Use these codes first before referring to the other code lists. NOTE: Not all codes are shown.
