Question about Sony Audio Players & Recorders

My son's new Sony Walkman NWZ-A728 suddenly won't play videos. I loaded one on to it from a stored file (in Realplayer, then Windows Media Player) but although it played this initially, suddenly it said the film was not in the right format and refused to play any more.

You need to convert files format with a video converter like Leawo Video Converter. It allows you to convert video and audio to the format you want. Sony walkman NWZ-A728 playable format:

Audio Format AAC, MP3, WMA

So, i guess ur video is not compatible with ur son's Sony walkman NWZ-A728. You could use Daniusoft video converter to convert ur video to NWZ-A728 -friendly format, It is already optimized for output setting for sonywalkman . Convennitly

Are the videos in the right format? The format that works for the mp3 is MP4 video. you must convert your videos using a mp4 converter.
i use winavi ipod converter (works with nwz a728)

It is so easy to transfer music files, videos and pictures to a Sony Walkman using Windows Explorer. Of-course, it is almost same for other manufacturer products as well. You can use theWindows Explorer to transfer files (music, images and videos) to a Walkman Player. Once you connect the Walkman Player to the Computer, it will display asan additional storage media under My Computer. Sony walkman will not recognise VLC files

Sony Walkman will accept converted video file and it's format should be MPG-4 or MP4. other format will no be played and be sure you have to put that in your "Video" folder of your Walkman.

What file type do i need to convert my dvd's to, to play on my nwz-a729

Please visit http://www.sony.co.in/support/product/nwz-a728/modelfirst . The documentation should include the file types supported by the player. However, generally mpeg-4 and wma work fine on sony.

No Videos!!

The Sony NWZ range can only play WMV (windows media video) files. All movies you download through iTunes are .Mov (quicktime) files so these are not compatible. There are some convertors that can translate between .mov and wmv but for movies you have downloaded through iTunes, this will not be possible I'm afraid because of the copy protection they have built in.

To transfer wmv files onto your walkman don't use iTunes but use the Windows Explorer itself. Just drag the files on to the Video folder of your device.

if it doesn't sync, don't worry just open the folder where the music files are stored on your computer, connect your Sony Walkman to your computer and highlight the music files you want to add to the Walkman and select (copy these files) a windows will open for you to select the place you want to copy to, select your mp3 player and click on copy to copy the selected music to your Walkman

NOTE: if you Sony Walkman has a specific folder for music files, you need to move the songs you copied from your hard drive's music folder to the music folder on your mp3 player for the player to recognize the songs in order to play.
