Re: Sylvania SSL2006 dead, won't turn on. fuse is ok,
If there is dc voltage before the switch mode transformer,Check if there is any voltage available after the it.for some models check for an open choke resistor(1.2k,3w) which supplies to the filter capacitors.if resistor is fine and no volage after the chopper,then test the power transistor.u may also remove this transistor and then check if the voltavge will cross the chopper

Re: Sylvania SSL2006 dead, won't turn on. fuse is ok,
Since you know electronics that will make the explanation simpler;
On your tv model there is a very common problem that you may want to look at;
There is a small board on the right hand side(backlight inverter board),
Look for a shorted D309 , it is a 9.1volts 1watt zener diode.
As i said it is a common problem for your model.
But there is also the power supply;
All lcd tv`s nowadays it seems end up with bad capacitors in the power supply,
You can recognize them by their rounded tops and you`ll find them at the output of the power supply along the 5/12 and 24volts line.
But especially on the 5 volts line.
If your not sure which ones then replace them all (there might be 6 or 7 of them) it won`t hurt and eventually they will go anyway.
Hope this help good luck

Hello There is a fuse inside the power supply bard of your sylvania TV. Check whether it has blown out. If bllown out, replace it with same type bothe in size and amperage. If the newly inserted fuse also blow up as soon as you switch on the set, make sure that the power supply section has some short circuit in it, and should be cheked well. OK.
Hello If the TV doesn't turn ON ata all, it is surely due to some fault with its power supply regulator section. You haven't given any otehr details of your tV, than it is only a 32 inch CRT Sylvanial Tv. No model number; so I only can provide you a solution in general. Check the ON-OFF switch for its contact. Normally, TVs uses DPST type switches [Double Pole Single Throw]. If any one contact amoung them have any problem with its internal contacts, the set won't switch ON. If the switch is OK, come towards the power regulator section circuit board, and check whether the fuse has blown out or not. If it has blown out, replace it with same type and ampere rating. Never use higher ampere rating than specified. The ampere rating will be maiked either on the rims of the fuse, or at the printed circuit board, just under the fuse. After repalcing the fuse, switch ON the TV and see whether it works well or the replaced fuse blows up as soon as you switch ON the set. If the repalced switch burns out as soon as you switch ON the set, the power supply section has damaged [shorted components in it]; and should be replaced. Normally for LCD TVs it will be good to replace the power supply as card basis. This power regulator card can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town, orby the authorised service center for Sylvania at your town. If you may have given its model number, I could send you the picture of the power card of your TV. OK.
Hello Without its remote control, you can't unlock this TV. Get into this link from where you can buy it. www.emtcompany.com/sylvania-srt2232s-remote/rc64.html The price quoted is $19.95 [Shipping free] OK.
The power suply unit may be dead......if the fuse blows instantly it means that the main input is short. possible parts damaged :the diodes from the mains, the power tranzistor and the ic from the primary part and other components around them. First unplug the tv, unload the mains capacitor (using a light bulb) check all the diodes from the rectifing bridge, check for any shortened semiconductors or blow resistors.
BE VERRY CAREFUL !!! THERE IS A RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK ,IF U DON"T KONW ANY ELECTRONICS TAKE IT TO A SPECIALIST
Ur tv circuit board is burn or ur power board is dead. Make sure ur TV worth repairing it cost alot money for this prob.U know little about
Electronic u can check if there no burn in the circuit board check the plug go to the power u can buy that board in the net might work might not.Could burn alot of things in power surge.
Good Luck! My SSL2006 tv would cuts off when turned on. Under warranty, the local auth. repair shop tried unsuccessfully to replace parts to fix it. In addition, the repair shop told me it was difficult getting thru to parts support. Either the wrong parts were sent, the right part didn?t work, or additional authorization was required to repair TV. On many occasions I made calls to Sylvania, on the repair shops urging, to find out the status on its repair parts to help get the right parts sent. The set was in an auth repair shop from Feb.-Aug. The shop couldn't fix it. It was sent to Sylvania's repair center in CA, August 18th. WHEN WILL I GET MY TV BACK? I want a new TV!! I have been without this TV for over 6 mos.! I'm very upset with customer service and its repair centers and will never buy nor will I recommend purchasing a Sylvania product.
Hi, I just fixed one I bought on eBay with the same problem. My problem was caused by the screen backlight inverter. Fortunately I had one from another TV I bought last year on eBay. The repair only took about 15 minutes. Your best bet is to contact Funai Corp. and really complain even if it is out of warranty. They make Emerson, Funai, Symphonic and Sylvania and all the parts inside are the same (from the same years). If that don't work look on eBay for one with a broken screen or some other damage, call your local dealer and see if they have the inverter from a broken TV or ask around. We have a freecycle group in Michigan that recycles things rather than throw them in landfills you may have one in your state too !
