I have a Dell 5.1 surround system that I bought for my computer. It has three cables, yellow, black, green, that connect to make it a single jack for the computer. I would like to hook up this system to my Samsung 42" flat screen tv for the sound but don't know how the colors convert to the RCA red, yellow, and white jacks on the TV. Can you help?

Hi .. i have just bought a logitech x 530 speaker and only 2 of the speaker parts work .. can you please give me some solution advice?

Hi names Rui i like to help you by giving you step by step instruction in propely hocking up your logitech speakers:

Instructions

1. Connect the black plug of the rear right speaker into the black plug on the subwoofer.

2. Connect the yellow plug on the rear left speaker into the yellow input on the subwoofer.

3. Connect the red plug of the front center speaker into the red input on the subwoofer.

4. Connect the white plug of the front left speaker into the white input on the subwoofer.

5. Connect the d-sub connector plug from the front right speaker into the d-plug connector on the subwoofer.

6. Connect the green, black and orange input to the matching plugs on your computer. If you have a four-channel sound card, connect the green plug from the input audio cable to the front plug of the card and the black plug to the rear plug. Do not connect the orange input. If you are using a two-channel sound card, connect the green plug from the input audio cable to the "Line Out" jack on the sound card. Do not connect the green and orange plug.

7. Plug the subwoofer power chord into the electrical power outlet.

8. Place your subwoofer on ground around your computer desk. Position the front center speaker on top of your computer monitor.

9. Place the left and right front speakers on the sides of the monitor. Position the left and right rear speakers behind you, making sure they are pointing toward the front left and right speakers.

10. needs to support 5.1 surround. Normally, more than three sockets for sound indicates that it does. Then you need to use the software that comes with the sound hardware to configure it for 5.1 - Default will be 2.1 or just 2.
Check the control panel out. This is a lot easier under Windows 7.- Here you can access what you need via the speaker icon on the system tray (right click)
There is NO problem with your OS or hardware, this is pretty standard...

hope this will help you solve your problem.

I bought a logitect with 5 small speakers but i have 3 imput but my computer has only one. how do i connect

Unless *********** board was bought years and years and years, and even years ago, you should by default have at least three jacks. Headphones, or sound out; micorphone, and a line input or second out put. You can adjust your settings in the control panel under audio devices to have a least two (2) outputs, in which case you want to connect the green and black. You should have instructions that came with the system to show you guidelines for setting up the speakers, but you can then use your matrix feature to mimmick surround sound!

I am no audio techi and i am trying to connect my PC audio output to this receiver with no luck. I have a simple one pin green audio output cable, same both ends, and can not find anywhere to connect it to...

I don't know if you have the manual for the 520K, but on page 26 it tells you to connect to the front panel audio mini jack. There is an aux. jack that goes from your computer to this jack. That's how the sound comes through to the speakers. I had the same problem and packed the receiver to return it, but then got the manual out again and started looking into it to see what I didn't do.
I don't know if you have tried that jack.
Let me know if it worked for you.

Dell dimension 5150. Adding Altec Lansing acs410. Two speakers with a sub. Back of speaker has 2 inputs, a sub out, and a transfer line to the other speaker. Why two inputs? Dell has 5 jacks in this...

The speakers have two inputs for two different things, in my case I use the green input for my computer and the white one for my game consoles. You just need a 3.5mm minijack male to male cable to connect between the input on the speaker and the green jack on the computer.

Bought a set of logitech speakers - using with my dell laptop. But the speakers have a triple input (black orange and green) but the computer seems to have only one output - green

This means that your speakers have surround sound capability. The black one is for the REAR L-R sound, the orange one is for the CENTER sound, and the green is for the standard stereo FRONT L-R sound.

Your computer only has a green slot, so it means it does not support surround by default. You should simply insert the green speaker jack into the green slot on your laptop, and you should be good to go. The orange and black ones aren't necessary at all, so it's fine to ignore them for now.

My rear sound jacks are blue, green and pink...Im not sure where to plug the three speaker jacks in, as theyre not marked in any way. The speakers seem to be working, except for playing videos etc on the...

what do you mean by your rear sound jack? is that the 3 jacks that you use to connect to your computer ? it depend on if you have 5.1 system or 2.1 system but normally you can plug it in this order : green , yellow , black . The pink normally is for Mic port but if you don't have it then insteed 1 of those 3 colors you replace it with the pink. And again you have to have a software on your computer which is usually come with your computer when you buy it. You'll have to manually configue those port in the software on your computer to get it to work. Good luck and keep me updated.

Help! Surround Sound problems!

Since you have a surround sound system, you probably should just bypass the TV's audio.

Connect the red/white plugs from your digital cable box to one of the inputs on your surround sound system but not the Phono input unless the Phono input lists something aside from Phono, like Aux/Phono or CD/Phono.

Connect the S-Video or composite (yellow) video plug from your digital cable box directly to the S-Video or composite (yellow) video jack on your TV.

If your digital cable box does not have a S-Video (4 pins and flat rectangular hole) or Composite (yellow RCA jack) jack and only has the screw/push-on type cable with the pin in it, then leave the remaining connections as-is.

Now switch your surround sound system to the input you connected the red and white plugs to and turn on your TV. You should see picture from the TV, but hear audio from the surround sound system.

Speaker hook up

Methinks he joined an extra to one of the fittings you will need to do the same. When you join up the four let one hitch a ride so to speak on one of the connections.
