How do I get into safe mode on HP mini 1000? XP OS

To get into the Windows XP or Vista and Windows 7 Safe Mode, as the computer is booting, press and hold your "F8 Key", which should bring up the "Choose Advanced Options" screen as shown below. Use you arrow key to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

have you check last known good configuration or windows restore option

boot it with the windows XP CD and reinstall windows. hit the 'r' key the second time it appears on the screen when it says that it has found an existing OS in 'c' drive, this will reinstall the OS without loosing any previous data.

boot the xp instal disk and select repair (might not help but worth a try)

was there a new hardware that was added to your laptop? bluescreens often are caused by hardware.
while the laptop is booting up when you are asked for options on how to start you computer is there an option for start windows using last known configuration? if there is try that and if it still goes into bluescreen you may want to try and recover your laptop using the hp recovery cd or recovery tool. if it still doesn't work most likely you have a bad memory chip.

Try getting it to boot into"safe mode" by tapping the delete key as it boots up. (it helps if you post the OS that is installed when asking questions! and if you have either a restore disk or the actual windows disk)
If it boots that way, depending what OS is in use, the windows can be repaired.

your machine is suffering from missing sys files as aresult of virus infestation. back up your data and run a fresh copy of windows and your other softwares
