2 problems. 1st is that when the air is on, the middle vents work perfectly but the side vents push hot air for some reason. whats the problem? 2nd is the stereo stopped working so what would be a good replacement stereo for this car? thank you its a 1989 mercedes benz 190E

air flow control you can use i to shut off air flow to room.

Do yourself a favor an take it to repair shop before you mess it up or hurt yourself !

check for a faulty climate control module.

there is a few things to check .. the linkage on the side if it's misplaced. look for the temp control motor connector not connected or misplaced and check the vacuum hose to vacuum pack if they are at the right place and when you move the mode switch if vacuum pack work could misplace the vacuum hose

2nd check relay
3rd the filament wire of the heater

In my 1998 Honda Accord Lx the hot air does not come out of the heater vents in the floor, the same is true for cold air in the middle vents on the dash. The side vents on the dash work fine.

Try closing the windows, the AC on some Mercedes require all windows to be closed for the side vents to work.

the the vacuum line for a broken one, check from the engine compartment first, check the fuse and all relays, check the a/c doors make sure they are not jammed.

Can someone who has had the problem , provide the solution? I want to thank you in advance if you have the answer.

SOUNDS LIKE THE VENTS ARE PULLING AIR FROM OUTSIDE, YOU CONTROLS FOR THE VENTS ARE OFF SINQ. TRY TO MOVE THE CONTROL BACK AND FORTH WORK THEM HOT TO COLD AND DEFOAST TO HEAT TO AIR WORK ALL THOSE EVERY WAY YOU CAN ,MIGHT HAVE A STICKING VENT OR VALUE, THANKS HOPE THIS HELPS ,ROBERT
