I went and downloaded the drivers here http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...

    but still doesnt work :(

Same thing have to turn Lexmark x6170 off and back on to continue printing after 1 page. When I open printer queue it says deleting forever until printer power off back on. Using newest Lexmark site drivers for Vista. Also should tell you it worked fine in XP problem after installing Vista. Going back to XP is not an option.

  • PCDr Apr 10, 2008

Started having same issue with X6170 & Vista laptop. This problem of the page not deleting out of queue started within last month or so. This printer had been working fine with Vista before this for several months.

I've attempted reinstall of current drivers & other optional software settings. It still intermittenly, freezes deleting page in queue.

Since it is a recent problem, possibly a recent Vista update is wreaking havoc with Lexmark's shoddy drivers?

    Anybody have a solution??

The same thing. I print 1 page then it freezes. I have to turn off the computer then start again.Tracy

  • osiris73 Apr 21, 2008

Not only do I have that same issue, but my scanner has stopped working. I have the latest drivers for Vista. I can print, but only one page at a time. I've found that an easier way to get around it other than rebooting your pc is to turn off the pinter, then clear the print queue then turn the printer back on again. This usually clears it out for me. However, I have expenses that I NEED to scan and that has recently stopped. It won't scan into any format I've tried e.g. reader, word, email, etc.

I have the same problem. 10 page doc must be printed one page at a time. Turn printer on/off after every page is printed.

  • Anonymous Jun 09, 2008

I have the same problem with my X6170 and Windows Vista. I don't think it's a memory problem because it occurs with a simple text only email, Excel spreadsheet, anything with more than one page. The previous print job in the queue is not being deleted. It keeps showing as in the delete process but the previous spooled print job never disappears until you turn the printer off and on. I definitely have the most recent drivers. What a pain!

  • boruku Sep 28, 2008

ya i just noticed i meant to say i have to turn the printer off and on, not the computer, though that would work too.. still have the problem also...

  • s_taplin Nov 07, 2008

But this time with a lexmark X4650!!

Freezes after 1 page and restart etc.

    Have most up-to-date drivers....

    Any fix???

Same problem here using the X6170 and Vista. The dos commands: net stop, start etc works but not always, even my PC stopped once and occasionally the print icon hangs (right below on the desktop).
I have had several times contact with the technical guy (4years at Lexmark) and he gives up. Lexmark does not have a solution. It is definately a driver problem but they will not make a propper Vista driver (scan driver was already too much effort).

    x2600 does the same thing
if i'm real lucky i can get 2 pages out of a 15 page document

screw Vista, seriously. nothing works on this machine.

  • qirk May 10, 2009

i have found that the only way to solve this is to uninstall lexmark printer, reboot and reinstall printer, lexmark support has no answer to this common problem, in vista os systems, this will be my last lemark printer

Same problem, tried uninstalling and reinstalling driver many times. Worked and now has stopped working all together. Worked fine under XP, now on HP Vista laptop and nothing.

Drivers are most likely not up to date, especially if you used the old ones. Gotta go to lexmark, and get the latest Vista friendly driver. I recommend the highest quality one, with the most features(so that Vista won't spit it out again).

ok...then let's look at memory allocations. Do you happen to know how much memory is resident on your Lexmark printer? Sometimes the print queue gets overwhelmed, and voila, freeze city.

Check this.
Disconnet printer USB
Open a command window with administrator rights.
net stop lxbf_device
net stop spooler
net start spooler
net start lxbf_device
Empty the spooler manually.
Reconnect the printer USB.
It's not a good solution but it's better than reset the PC.

I'm experiencing this problem. Have downloaded the latest driver from Lexmark - no luck. Sent email to their tech support - waiting.

Anyone have any luck here.

Lexmark x6170 not printing magenta

Print quality issues could be due to dirty or clogged print cartridge nozzles. Please follow the steps below to improve the print quality:
On the printer operator panel:
  1. Press Copy.
  2. Press Options until Maintenance appears on the display.
  3. Press the right arrow until Clean Cartridges appears on the display.
  4. Press Select. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles.
  5. Print your document again to verify that your print quality has improved.
Using the Lexmark Solution Center:
  1. Click Start > Programs > Lexmark X6100 Series > Lexmark X6100 Series All-In-One Center.
  2. From the Maintenance tab, click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.
  3. Click Print. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles.
  4. Print your document again to verify that your print quality has improved.
If the problem continues, try to insert a different known working cartrdidge or better yet replace it with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge.
Should the problem continue, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

My Lexmark X6170 won't print or partially prints e-mail. Also it won't copy in black but will copy in color? When this happens I get the 0502 error message. Any idea as to what is wrong and how to...

The 0502 error code indicates either a faulty cartridge is detected or the encoder strip (transparent strip) is dislodged from its position. Refer to this article in the Lexmark website on Error 0502 on the Lexmark X6150/X6170 Printer LCD Display to determine and resolve the problem. Thanks.

Cant copy or scan in my All in One Lexmark X6170.

You must have a CD.

Make sure the scanner is unlocked.

Try copying from ADF and scanner glass.

Lexmark X6170 will only copy l/4 of page as a copier but copies full pages from the computer

check the properties and page settings before you print you may find your page settings are incorrect to what you want. Set to all pages, make sure print colour documents black is unckecked, make sure no other settings are telling it to print other than what you want. Post back if no good.
