Re: It ses my disc is unreadable and ive tried everything...
Your problem is a dirty laser or a laser that has completely gone out. check with microsoft to see if the unit is still under warranty with this site: XBOX WARRANTY
if the unit is no longer under warranty, we'd be glad to clean/replace the laser for you. all of our repairs come with a 90 day warranty that covers the whole console, not just what we fix. we also offer extended warranties at an additional cost. you can contact us at: 214-222-5788 or [email protected]

have you checked if its similar to your region ? for instance if your Xbox uses Pal region supported games and you have an NTSC region Disc , it will probably say something like "disk is unreadable or region format is not supported "...thats the only conclution ive got in mind...that or the disc is plain empty or corrupted from the manufacturing company ? i hope it helps :)
I think mom needs to by a new MW2 . what's happened is there is some very sensitive areas on the disk that absolutely can not have any distortions or scratches or it will get kicked out as a unreadable disk . the laser lens CUT a deep grove that is difficult to buff out. the CD will have to be ground down then buffed out a 2 step operation . I have done it but it takes the right equipment and grinding compound.
You will need to either repair the disc using a repair kit, find a game shop that repairs disc, or purchase a new copy of the game. You are getting a message saying that the disc is unreadable because the scratches prevent the laser from reading the data.

Turned on your Xbox 360 console one day and and when you try to play your game you got the message "This disc is unreadable" OR "Unplayable disc".....??
First determine whether it's a fault with the disc or not, by having a look on the disc itself & make sure it's not scratched and there are no flaws even on it, and try other game discs on your Xbox 360 console .
If your disc is scratched or have flaws try putting other discs in your Xbox 360 console just to make sure it's the disc not the actual console causing the error, If other disc are working fine, refer to the scratched discs page on our website to know what are the steps you have to follow to get it sorted out.
If the disc is not scratched and doesn't have any flaws on it, cleaning the disc and trying it once more may solve the issue, if that doesn't work try to check it by putting other discs in your Xbox 360 console, if they all work that would be definitely a fault with the disc itself and in a case like this you have the right to exchange it from the retailer you bought it from as it's not scratched.
In all cases if other game discs are giving you the same error message "This disc is unreadable" OR "Unplayable disc" you need then to contact Xbox 360 customer support to send your console to get repaired or exchanged.
Check the back of the disc for any kind of circular scratches, because moving the xbox while a disc is in it is commonly known to scratch up discs, even if they are new. Try putting in the disc, then go to Game Library, and click on the game (NHL 10), then hit Install to Hard Drive, this may fix the problem, if this doesn't work, go to your local game store, and see if they can buff out the scratches.
This sounds like your laser is faulty m8, you could try adjusting the power on the laser to see if that fixes the problem but more than likely you will have to install a new laser pickup unit.
strip the machine down, take out the dvd drive and strip that down (usually 4-6 posi screws) remove the cables from the laser then turn upside down and remove the logic board. if you look at the laser there is 2 pots which can be adjusted. if the laser is upside down then you need to adjust the left hand pot to around 282.
put the machine back together and test - if it works then youve fixed it, if not then you will have to replace the laser unit. strip everything down again and this time take out the laser pickup unit itself. remembering how everything went together. look under the laser unit and there should be a part number. look on ebay and you should be able to get a new laser for around £15 inc p&p. this will save you a lot of money and may be the only way to fix.
Know what? I've had your same problem...
Bought BF:BC, and it'll tell me that it's an un-readable disk, or says "Play DVD"...
I've also already returned the game once, for another copy and there's no positive changes.
The rest on my games work, just not BF:BC.
