KDL-40V5100 TV HDMI Issue

Have a KDL-40V5100 Sony Bravia. Was working fine, but appears to be having difficulties receiving a signal through HDMI. I've tried this with different inputs, different HDMI cables, and different HDMI devices. 1 in 10 times the TV will receive an HDMI signal, but once I change the input again its gone. Help!

I fixed my HDMI problem by updating my software for my BRAVIA. Go to http:/esupport.sony.com and use the live chat. I had to get a USB memory stick, but other than that $0.
Good luck, Steve

How do I get a US Sony Bravia KDL-42V4100 to work in the UK?

I have encountered this before---there are set top boxes that will convert the NTSC to PAL and the only other concern is the line voltage being the same or not.

Sony KDL-40V5100 Switches off by itself

Sorry to say but it sounds like your power supply is bad, although it is possible it is some other components in the TV because turning it off allows all diodes etc to power down completely. Unfortunately after a bit it happens again which leads me to believe again power trouble.

Hello, There is an update for your TV at Sony Support and I would strongly  recommend to call Sony Support to update your TV as firmware updating firmware is risky job for novice and TV firmware can be damaged and TV will shut down.
