Envelopes smudge I have a new HP 4250 and letterhead envelopes smudge 100% of the time. white envelopes don't. I have tried changing fusor settings to no avail. ideas?

Make sure that if you have a setting for paper type you have it set for envelope. This would be found in the setup menus, I just don't remember if this model has that setting, they are getting to be rare now. The other common cause of print problems is the envelopes themselves, if they are old or have been stored where they have been allowed to absorb moisture, you will have a very hard time printing on them. Try some different envelopes if you have them.

Make sure that your paper tray is set for preprinted letterhead paper

Envelopes in the HP 4250 are loaded in tray 1 -- the pull-out tray on the front of the printer. Set the envelopes in and adjust the side guides, then go into the menu and set the correct paper size and type for tray 1.

In the paper-handling menu set the envelope feeder size to the size of your envelope and the envelope feeder type to *any type.

Then ensure you are printing envelopes from your application.

RESTORE MODES
Use this item to configures the fuser mode associated
with each media type.
Change the fuser mode only if you are experiencing
problems printing on certain types of media. After you
select a type of paper, you can select a fuser mode
that is available for that type. The available selections
might include some or all of the following modes:
NORMAL: Used for most types of paper.
HIGH 1: Used for rough paper.
LOW: Used for transparencies.
HIGH 2: Used for paper that has a special or rough
finish.
The default fuser mode is NORMAL for all print media
types except transparencies (LOW), and rough paper
(HIGH 1).
CAUTION
Do not change the fuser mode for transparencies.
Failure to use the LOW setting while printing
transparencies can result in permanent damage to
the printer and fuser. Always select Transparencies
as the Type in the printer driver and set the tray type
at the printer control panel to TRANSPARENCY.
When selected, RESTORE MODES resets the fuser mode
for each media type back to its default setting.

I got to HP tech support, and they tell me that the envelope feeder is intended only for a few standard envelope sizes. If we're trying to use a different sized envelope, as in this case, it must be fed manually, and the feeder bin will not work. So that answers that. Thanks for the help, though.

I think it's been left open and has collected some fluff and dust, It needs a good clean. Just maybe there's a Toner Printer Cartridge leak.

What do you mean by logo? Do you mean the Menu Page?

Are you telling the machine that paper type is letter head or envelopes, It must be done, it changes temp of fuser to suit the paper type, no it is not a power supply problem change paper type to card stock/thick/letterhead etc to suit then machine will adjust temp to suit.. ie file, print properties paper type.
