Soldier Of Fortune Payback wont start.

There is a disparity between the object (soldier) and the collision box that surrounds him. This could be a programming fault but is more likely some form of file corruption.

I would try a complete uninstall reinstall then apply the patch to see if this cures it.

Play around with the screen resolution to ill you find one that is acceptable and works.

maybe its from graphics card. Does the gpu of your laptop support this game. Check the site of the game for recomendation of hardware

Well, since the patch is for pc, that might be the issue, or maybe you need to ask the pc guys.

Right click on the executable for that program and it should have options under the different tabs to run it in different modes. One mode would be compatibilty mode and the others should be for changing display properties.

I'm having the same problem and presuming you got yours fixed?

right click on the program icon (Soldier of Fortune) then click the option "troubleshoot compatibility", windows 7 will adjust the settings compatible with the games, a window will appear, click "start the program", should the program run, save the settings.

Vista can be tricky with some installations even if the game says it's compatible. The first thing I would try is running the installation with escalated privelege. To do this follow these instructions...

1. When you insert the installation CD, an autorun screen will most likely pop up inviting you to install the game. Cancel this.

2. Go to my computer and right click on the drive that contains the installation CD. Choose 'explore'

3. A file list will appear listing the contents of the CD. Scroll through the list and locate the file that launches the installer. This may be called setup.exe or install.exe or something like that.

4. Right-click on the file and choose "run as administrator".

5. The installer should launch and hopefully the game will install OK.

If this does not work - you can also try updating your graphics card drivers. First - identify what type of graphics card you have. (right click the desktop - click on personalize - click on display settings (I think) - and note the name of the adapter. It will likely be either ATI Radeon or NVIdia GeForce with a number after it. Let me know what it is and I will get you the web address for your update.

the problem is in ur graphic cards .it is not supported to the game first: reinstall ur driver of graphic cards & play the game
if problem occurs than u have to update ur graphic card
