TV after removal of picturetube for playing music from DVDplayer

I have a sony triniton colour tv with the problem colour loss (pictures are seen as if it is seen through blue filter). It is used for hearing music from a connected dvd player. My question is Whether the picture tube of the tv can be disconnected and removed and use the remains to play the music from dvd player (only sound). The purpose is to save the power for running the picture tube.

Why use the TV in hearing the sound from DVD
player. You can use some small speaker and connect it at the back of the DVD player.

What do I do when there is no signal on the screen of Sony Triniton Colour TV - Model No KV M144OU

Sounds like the tuner to this TV is faulty. Check all the input connections at its back for firmness. If all are OK, and connected to proper way, and the TV do not receive any channels, the tuner should be replaced. Before replacing it, just check with other inputs. Feed input from any DVD or VCR; and check whether there is picture or not. If there is picture with other inputs, and not with an Ariel connection, surely the the tuner is faulty, and should be replaced. Contact any service technician. Sony kvj21mf1ak

It sounds like either the TV or the device is trying to do S video instead of composite video.
see if you can change the output type of the media player and make sure that the TV input is not set to S Video.

Original DVD plays black and white

It seems that you have get the color system setting of your Tv wrong. Sony uses the Pal(it's a format for the transmission of signals) color system , so check into your TV's color system settings and change it to pal , if that doesnt work then change it to Ntsc.
