Print 3 pages. Use the manual feed tray. As they print, open the cover, remove the toner and look down at the paper in the printer. Do you see marks along the edge? If no...replace the fuser. If yes...it could be the transfer roller.

HP 1300 -- toner is smudged along the left edge after crinkly sound

Hi:

This is a common problem with some HP printers. The fuser sleeve inside the fuser assembly gets torn along the edge and print can no longer be fused in that area and the paper will crinkle there. The only solution would be to replace the fuser, which for that printer it would not be worth repairing.

HP Laserjet P3005, everytime we print we get black speckles in 7 even lines across the paper. Why is this?

Usually caused by the toner cartridge, try replacing the cartridge. Especially if it is not a genuine HP cartridge they have a higher defect rate.

Any size paper we send through the printer comes out with a fine black line on the left side. Printer is p3005x

It is either the fuser or toner cartridge. Try a known good toner cartridge. If this solves the problem, then you have a bad toner cartridge. This can often occur when cartridge is near "end of life".
If this doesn't solve the problem, then most likely it is the fusing assembly. You can also try a "half page" test print. Stop the printing in the middle by opening the toner cartridge access door before the paper reaches the fusing assembly. "No defects" , then I would strongly suspect the fusing assembly. HP is replacing these fusers based on Mfg date. of the printer. Call HP if it is a fusing assembly problem.

Fix hp laserjet 5100

There is either something in the paper path (burned in probably) or the paper path is extremely dirty. The paper path can include the cartridge. I
ve seen this problem alot with rebuilt cartridges. I would turn off the printer (unplug) open all the doors, take out the cartridge and toner waste bottle(s). Now with a flashlite and a vacuum cleaner go after all the dirt you can find inside. If you do find caked toner on a roller, use rubbing alcohol to remove it. Once you're sure there is nothing in the paper path then reassemble and try the printing. If the same problem is there the cartridge is definately suspect. Good luck

Marks on printed sheet

Toner powder is so fine that it hides under parts that you can't see. By all means, DO NOT blow it out with canned air! Get a vacuum with a fine filter that can hold toner and remove the toner cartridge. Then vacuum out the inside of the printer as thoroughly as possible. Especially clean out along the paper path and where the cartridge goes in. It may still print a few dirty pages, but after several pages, it should go away.

I am having trouble printing out plates (on a coated glossy stock) for our printing presses. Sometimes I will get a ghosting line across the plate, other times there will be marks across the plate like the...

I know you have replaced the toner cartridge but have you replaced it with the HP Brand. Also, what model do you have? I have taken many, many calls on remanufactured or compatible toner cartridges for steaks, reprinting and and even paper feed problems because they leak.

Black smudge marks along left side edge of paper.

Its probably a defective toner. If the film on the toner drum is scratched it can cause toner to stick to the drum everytime it spins causing the constant marks.
