Some XBox games have both a 360 and original XBox version, so you can't play them on the 360. Other games simply aren't compatible. Your game may fall into one of those two groups.
You specify the xbox 360 do you know what year model you have? If it as earlier model then likely you are running into system instability with many reasons for the error being possible.
Does the error only appear with one particular title or across your game library?
If it is just one game then attempt to install the game onto your hard drive and play the game after that. To install the game onto your hard drive you will need to do the following:
Install Xbox 360 games on your hard drive from a game disc
Note Installing an Xbox 360 game on a hard drive requires between 4 and 8 gigabytes (GB) of free disc space.
Insert the game disc into the disc drive.
Note After you insert the disc, the default option is to automatically start the game. If the game starts, exit the game, and return to the Xbox Dashboard.
From the Xbox Dashboard, go to My Xbox.
Select the game you want to install.
Press Y on your controller.
Select Install to Hard Drive.
A progress indicator appears while your game is being installed on your hard drive.
Notes
Installing an Xbox 360 game might take several minutes.
Multidisc game? Install each disc to your hard drive.
Hi, although you do have 4Gb storage space this is not actually classed as a hard drive. It is purely flash storage. To be able to play old Xbox games and certain multiplayer games you will in fact have to buy a new hard drive for your Xbox Slim. There is a small cover which hides a Sata hard drive slot connector in the top of your Xbox. I think currently Microsoft are selling the hard drive including the caddy for around £130 ($200). I myself was duped into buying a 4Gb console only to end up buying a hard drive afterward.
The E68 is a weird error. Its normally from a hard drive failure. The underground xbox 360 scene says
THe E68 is a Hard Drive Error. The Hard drive is not properly configured: It could be a problem
with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to
the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it.
If the xbox can play without the hard drive then this error can be caused by a problem with the fans that make them draw too
much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories
attached to the console like an external fan unit. Attempt to remove
unnecessary accessories first, and then necessary components such as the
hard drive and USB devices.
If its the hard drive or your console causing the problems contact Microsoft they will probably fix your hard drive and maybe recover your game saves. On the newest games that info is stored on xbox live.
Unfortunately , a new xbox360 game cant be played in a normal xbox (not xbox 360)
The problem is that the new xbox is way different on the inside than
the original xbox is. Because it is way more powerful, you can put an
old xbox game into a 360, and it will work fine (most of the time), but
if you try the reverse there is no way to make it work.
Right, lay your Xbox360 down dont keep it upright, try installing COD4 to your hard drive then once installed go into you game library and click on cod4 and click play from hard drive ( and if you dont know how to install games to the hard drive make sure your xbox isnt on automatic start when a disc is inserted and put the disc in and when it says play cod4 press Y and then click install to hard drive) hope this helped....
You must have an Xbox 360 Hard Drive to play original Xbox games on your Xbox 360 console.
You can only play approved original Xbox games on Xbox 360. Visit the following Web site to view a current list of approved original Xbox games that you can play on Xbox 360:
i suspect you bought the xbox 360 core version. this does not come with a hard drive and therefore you cannot play original games. since you have the 30 day warranty i'd recommend you buy either the premium (comes with 20 gb hard drive) or the elite (120 gb hard drive). or you can buy a hard drive seperately and install it, however it's very overpriced like all 360 accessories
