My nuvi200 says no detailed maps support routing

My nuvi200 was working fine one day, but seemed to have lost detailed mapping and all data the next day. How do I get it back. I've had it for about a month.

Mine says no detailed maps in memory but when I look at it on the PC all the files compare with the backup I took. Even overwriting them does not help.

Bought Garmin Nuvi 250w today. Initially it was working fine. A couple of hours later a message appeared when starting up - "No detailed maps found that support routing. The nuvi cannot be used without them.", and it can't be! The screen just locks with the message displayed - even after reset. Does anyone have a solution to this problem????

I have the same exact problem with my Garmin 200 and hey, can you stop putting people with the same problem under "solution" it's kind of misleading.

Ok so i have pressed the middle of the screen the message no detailed maps that support routing has gone have gone into address it now says no data available and still no maps

The original message of "No detailed maps to support routing" is typically caused by a missing or corrupted map file. It can also be caused by not having the proper map unlock key installed on the unit.

If that problem has been resolved and you can't obtain an address when setting a route, make sure that the map is turned on.

Go to settings, select the map icon and then the map info button. Make sure there is a check mark in the square next to the text that lists the map that you have installed on the unit.

If the map info button is grayed out, then you still have a map issue.

If the square does not have a check mark in it, press the square to place a check mark in the square. This will activate the map.

With this unit, you can put several maps on it and you can select which map will be active or inactive with the check mark.

My gps says "no

Question: What should I do if my Garmin nuvi or zumo displays the message "No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing" or "No Map Data Available?"
--> Answer: The "No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing" or "No Map Data Available" message may appear on your device for the following reasons:
  • The GPS device is missing it's unlock code
  • The maps on the GPS device have been disabled
To determine the cause of the message, touch the screen until the message "No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing" disappears.
  • If you see a "Can't Unlock Maps" message following this error, remove any microSD / SD cards in the device and follow the instructions below for Retrieving your unlock codes followed by the instructions for Creating an unlock file
  • If you do not get the Can't Unlock Maps message then skip to the instructions for Enabling maps on the GPS device
Retrieving your unlock codes:
  1. Log into your myGarmin account
  2. Select Manage Maps
  3. Select Details
  4. The unlock code is located under the Installed Maps.

I have no maps on the screen its like i lost all the data. it says there are no roads near this start point. every thing else works mp3, settings, volume, bluetooth, etc.

it sounds like you may have just deselected the maps.

go to tools settings map then map info(bottom of the screen)

check that there is a tick next to your mapset if not just tap the name of the map and you should be sorted out.

No detailed maps found thatsupport routing. the nuvi cannot be use without them.I have an nuvi200 and i cannot get it to work.

I can help you fix your Garmin Nuvi 200W.

There are three steps to take to get your Nuvi running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

"Detail maps Don't Support Routing" in Garmin Quest

I too have a Garmin Quest and yesterday felt like throwing it against the wall because of the above problem. I found the solution eventually. When you download the maps from the Garmin Maps page, where you select the maps download, make sure that the checkbox to "Include route calculation data" is ticked before downloading your maps. Also make sure that the total memory required for the number of maps selected does not exceed the available memory on your Quest. If you try to fit more information into your Quest than it can receive then you are bound to have some problems. The Quests seems to have different memory specifications. According to the USA spec the memory is only 128mb, the Garmin site says 115mb and the box that my Quest came in says that it has 243mb.

GARMIN NUVI 200 SAYS NO DETAILED MAPS FOUND THAT SUPPORT ROUTING

You can download new maps..........free......................but..........

I had this problem last year with my garmin 200 and when I called they said that I was out of the 60 day time window for a free map upgrade but they would give it to me anyway. They gave me detailed instructions on how to download a new map free of charge but they didnt explain which selection replaced what I already had on mine.
As a result, I downloaded the wrong maps and have much less detail. Even though its the "2009" version, its less acurate than my old maps were. But its worth a shot, better than paying for them.

Garmin GPS map 182: seems to work fine, but does not show navigational aids. Boat is tracked, and route is marked, plus previous routes shown. However, channel markers are not showing up. Any ideas?

Which channel markers? There is a settings menu for map detail, put that on highest (press menu once or twice to get to the setup menu)

Route problem

If you don't have "Detailed Maps" for the area you are travelling in, it will not have adequate map detail to create routes that are not on major highways.

To remedy this, you will need to use another of GARMIN's products... I believe it's called Mapsource City Navigator, and will have to be purchased for the area you are concerned with. This PC software will then allow you to load additional Map Data onto an SD card, which will slip into the slot on the left side of the unit.

You can find out about it at their website www.garmin.com then look in Maps
