Move the safety lock/lever at the top of the oven door to the right and press the self clean button on the oven control panel, it is an automatic cycle so it will lock the door from opening and then will proceed with the auto clean cycle. Good luck !

you can't get parts for this stove anymore so i wouldn't use the self clean on it,use soft scrub to clean it it says not to use easy off on a brand new oven but at this point i don't think it would matter on a 20 to 30 year old oven, when you put a stove into self clean it gets up to 1000 degrees, the wire casings on older stoves break down as it is but with all that heat you can do some damage to the stove, even if you just bought a brand new stove using the self clean can damage the electronics in it,usually it will take out the computer board or clock assy. same thing, your clock is most likely broken on that anyway or something else could be wrong with it and most likely you won't get it to self clean but if you want to use it or try to get it into self clean go here and read from page 32 to 36 hope this helps you out but i would not put it into self clean http://www.servicetechhelp.com/public/user-manual/14-30-789A.pdf
if this doesn't look like your oven get the model number and google it on how to self clean
when you put it into self clean the oven gets up to 1000 degrees and it will damage the electronics in the oven and it sounds like this happened to you,i've been telling everyone i know not to do this until after the holidays in case something like this happens you won't have a stove for the holidays and also i tell them to never use the self clean use easy off works just as good, sorry to hear about you stove,if this is an older stove most likely you won't be able to even get a new clock assy. but you can send your old clock assy. out to get rebuilt to http://generaltimerepairs.com/
you either do this yourself or get someone to remove the old clock assy. make a wire diagram, send the clock assy. out to have it rebuilt they send it back to you and you reinstall it and don't use the self clean again.one more thing i think there's a thermal fuse in the ka and that could have popped, you have to check it with a meter hope this helps and good luck.
With the older models of self-cleaning ovens one could put aluminum foil
on the bottom tray of the oven, but with the newer models there is a
warning (hidden in the last line) of your booklet for models of stoves
where aluminum foil should 'not' be used! Even though print in small and
many consumers are complaining regarding their stoves and melted
aluminum stuck to the bottom tray of their oven (nothing will get it
off) all manufacturer do 'not' cover this problem under warranty and
thus, it will cost you money to buy a new tray. You unscrew the two screws
to the bottom of the damaged tray of your oven and then install the new
one and put back the screws. Letters of complaint should be written to
the manufacturers to have them put this warning in clear bold print
right on the front cover of the instruction brochure.
Look around the console area for a button that says push to unlock. If it is there push the button in while unlocking the door. Some models may require that you also place the stove into self clean then canceling it out thus enabling you to unlock the door. Without a model number off stove tho it is all just guess worjk as all stoves are not the same.
when the oven comes new ,,you must burn the coating of for about an hour..a form of food grade rust proofing..let unit bake at 400 for 55 to 65 minutes empty
