Hi Proper way on wiring furnace.I have an Goodman Model GMP100-5 furnace with an AC unit. We currently do not get heat when we turn the thermostat to heat. I think the wiring is wrong. Currently on the furnace it has a brown wire coming out with 5 wires in it. These wires are connected to the brown AC units wire they are . y to y, w to w, b to b,g to g but the red wire is connected to the yellow wire coming out of the thermostat brown wire and the red wire is connected to the red wire from the furnace. The green wire from the thermostat is connected to a green wire which is hanging out of the furnace. The blue and white wire are not connected to anything. On the furnace aswell it has a yellow white and blue wire hanging out connected to nothing. What is the proper way this should be wired? Currently the ac unit works and the blower fan on the furnace only. The heat mode is not working.
I can give you a start, For heat only, R terminal on furnace to Red wire to R or RH terminal on thermostat. W terminal to White wire to W terminal on thermostat. G terminal to Green wire to G terminal on thermostat. This will get you heat but not air conditioning.
