Use warm water and you have to rub for a while but not too hard.
The longer the smudges have been there the harder to remove.
DON"T use any other kind of cleaner.
When I bought my new Sony flatscreen, I was sold a cleaner for the screen. After reading the manual it says not to use anything other than warm water, so I return the cleaner to surprized sales people!

How do I clean the LCD/LED screen without smudging or leaving a water mark

Hi Herkandjen,
Most TV companies recommend only a dry cotton cloth for cleaning the LCD screens. My personal experience is that using a mildly moist clean cotton cloth is the best thing for this purpose. For tough oily marks MILD soap solution can also be used in place of water. Please be careful to apply only very mild pressure while cleaning. Never ever spray the screen with any kind of liquid. Because the liquid if seeped through the plastic frame can damage the electronics inside. Happy viewing.

How To Clean a LCD Screen , TV or Display

In this tip , I will be explaining how to clean your LCD screen. This information is applicable to camera screens , TV's and computer screens.

You will need

90% isopropyl alcohol
Water
Microfiber Cloths
10min of your time

#1 Go out and buy some microfiber cloths. They are available from most big stores at about $1-$1.50 each. Cut your cloth into smaller sections (about the size of a cigarette box) and save the rest for another cleaning.

d0eb094.jpg

#2 Mix your 90% isopropyl alcohol in a 50/50 ratio with water. I recommend you use surgical gloves as the alcohol may irritate your skin. This will be your cleaning solution. You will only need about two tablespoons full , so don't make too much.

zp-5010.jpg9b30416.jpg

#3 Take two of your microfiber cloths and dampen the one really well with your cleaning solution. There should be no fluid leaving the cloth if squeezed...otherwise , you have to much.

Now wipe your screen first with the damp cloth followed by the dry one and repeat once. This should leave your screen nice and streak , smudge and fingerprint free.

Remember to store the isopropyl alcohol in a safe place is it is poisonous and flammable and discard unused solution after use in the sink while running water with it.

Please remember to rate this solution if you found it helpful.

Kind Regards
Stephan

How can I clean my plasma screen covered in sticky hand marks from my children!!!

You don't need expensive screen cleaning solutions to clean your screen. To remove the dust, use a good quality (like a micro-fiber) cloth. Then use separate cloth moistened, not saturated, with dish water to gentle wipe the smudges off. Do not scrub the screen, be patient and work them softly. Most TV mfg recommend this method. I hope this was of some assistance.

Cleaning touchscreen without damaging it.

Proper cleaning of a Touchscreen

  1. Step 1 Turn off both the computer and touch screen. This way, you can see everything that needs to be cleaned. Some touch screen applications has a cleaning mode which turns off the screen for the specific purpose of cleaning. However, the monitor's brightness can make you miss some areas.
  2. Step 2 Wet a soft, lint-free or microfiber cloth with distilled water. Wring out as much water as you can. Make sure the cloth is damp but not wet. Wipe the screen in a gentle motion to remove dust, oil, or fingerprint smudges off.
  3. Step 3 Another option is to use a screen cleaner kit that includes antistatic wipes. You can buy this at various electronic or online stores. Spray a little solution on a wipe then rub it gently across the screen.
  4. Step 4 Finish cleaning the touch screen with a dry lint-free cloth to wipe any excess moisture, then turn it back on.

Caution do a small test area first and see if you are happy with the results. I am.

Black smugges on screen

Inside or outside? If outside wipe them with a damp cloth. If these smudges are on the inside of the screen it is a screen fault and will get progressively worse. Can you see them when the set is on as well?

If the set is under warranty claim it now

Mitsubishi tv model wt 46809

Good Day, sam;
Sam it depends on "smudge".
If it's an oily type; then a mild soap, like dawn, on damp, warm soft cotton type cloth may remove it.
There are products found in most large best buy, circuit stores that sell a screen cleaner. It's sold in a small spay bottle, about 2-3 ounces. Always spray onto cloth NOT screen. Always wipe/clean with up & down strokes, NOT side to side or at an angle.
If the screen is smudged after attempts of trying to 'cleanning' a scratch, then only replacing the screen will fixya problem, cost will be in the range of $100.00-$250.00.
Good Luck, hope this was helpful, big IRISH.

Smudge marks???

If they are grease marks you can use a warm water a soft cloth like a t-shirt and little dish washing liquid. Gentley wipe the area only stroking down or up--- NEVER SIDE TO SIDE---. Have a dry cloth ready if you drip water down the screen. Now if those are scuff marks, your done, they cannot be removed. They are like the old record albums with the grooves, once the grooves get distorted that's it. Good luck.
