Not the printhead, it is waste ink coming up under the exit rollers. You need the printer cleaned and a mylar shield installed under the printer to keep it from happening again. In our shop it would be just a labor charge of $69.00 to repair.

Heavy black stripe on back side of every printed page

This is probably due to miss alignment, there is an option of test page which will be scanned to allign the cartridge, if ur's a all in one printer. This test page is printed at the first time and scanned instantly for first time operation.

Thankyou

My Canon PIXMA MP780 is not printing very well....it prints in stripes and very pale images show up (barely legible) even though there is enough ink. I think there might be something wrong with the ink...

This printer does not have an ink roller. The symptoms are that of a dirty or defective printhead. The printhead can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement. Start by removing all the ink tanks. Inside the tank frame, there are small handles you can grab to remove the printhead. It may require a little wiggling to get it out, but don't force it.

Once it's out, dampen a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol and gently scrub the face. Reinstall the printhead and tanks, then test. If it still looks less than perfect but there is improvement, clean it again. It might take several tries to get it back to par.

If there is no improvement after a couple of cleanings, the printhead will need replacing. I've had pretty good luck finding replacements on eBay. They run around $40 for this make/model.

My Business Inkjet 2280 will not print yellow properly. Its a brand new ink cartridge and my printing comes out striped. Ive tried cleaning and resetting, what do i do?

Try replacing the yellow Printhead. The printheads are inside the print carriage, usually a purple coloured flap, acessible from the top of the machine, and often confused with ink tanks.

There is a ink tank for each colour, and a seperate printhead for each colour....

Kodak Easyshare 5300 printer will not print black

Print a self test diagnostic page to check the status of the black ink and print heads.

To print the self-test diagnostic page

Control panel: Press (Configuration Page button), or press and hold the (Cancel button) for 3 seconds.

For models that support networks: Press (Configuration Page button).

If these are all showing OK then clean the printheads

To clean the printheads
If printed characters are incomplete, or dots or lines are missing from printouts, ink nozzles might be clogged and you might need to clean the printheads.

NOTE: Cleaning uses ink, so clean the printheads only when necessary.

The cleaning process takes up to 3.5 minutes. Some noise might be generated in the process.
Control panel: Press and hold (Power button), press (Cancel button) two times, press (Resume button) one time, and release (Power button).

If this fails then replace the black cartridge and run a clean cycle again and then a self test diagnostic then try printing again.
