Problem with Xerox Phaser 6110 black toner.

After printing-out included black toner, Ive replaced it with the new original one and it gives "black toner not recognized" error. I ve read on forums that there is "regional protection" built in printers firmware. Is that true? I ve bought printer via Pixmania, which is French company and then toner at local dealer in Slovakia. Can this be reason for regional protection fault - both we are EU countries? How can I solve this problem? Thank you.

Yeah it is a problem with the chip that is on the cartridge. You can go to the Xerox.com site and contact them directly by phone or e-mail.
Just once at the xerox.com site, select your country.

When the red light blinks on the printer what does it indicate-model-xerox phaser printer 6110

The blinking toner cartridge is low. Order a new toner cartridge. You can temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the toner. See "Redistributing Toner" on page 5.2

I replaced my black ink with a cheap brand that did not work. I then bought the expensive xerox ink and replaced it. I still get poor quality .. HELP

This printer is designed to print up to 50 000 pages trough its life. After that the transfer belt and the drum have to be replaced but the price is more than a new printer. So first check the counter (press the button and it will print it)
The cheap toner has entered in the black developing module where it mixed with the remained old original toner. They differ and tend to curdle. This is why printouts are poor after installing the new original toner. Try to print 20-50 black pages to take the curdled mix out. The developing module is part of the drum unit. It is hard to take apart and clean but not impossible. Buying a new drum unit is the last step, even after getting a new printer.

I have not used my Phaser 6110 for about 3 months, and now print quality is bad. It appears to be only the black that is affected. print quality is faint although slightly darker down one side. I have...

This sounds like the doctor blade within the black developer unit inside the image unit has become contaminated. This means that not enough black toner will be attracted to the developer roller. This usually manifests itself as feint thin lines of print running vertically through the text being printed. This can be repaired and is a known issue with this image unit.
If the printer is in warranty tell them you want it replaced, if not then take the image unit back to the supplier you bought it from and demand a replacement.

Printer not printing giving a black toner catridge not installed error and a new catridge is installed

Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges
