HI. This error code will occur when the control board senses an oven temperature above 915F-935F

Once this type of temperatures occur, this will generally weld the relay contacts on the main board. This will damage the board, and it will require you to have it replaced, asap. If these temperatures never reached the sated thresholds, i would advise to Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace the sensor if found to be defective. Check door lock switches for damage, as well.

In most cases, this will be a failed control board. To confirm, simply preform a resistance test on the sensor. The normal ohm readings should be 1100 ohms at room temperature.

If the oven temp sensor dose not test out at 1100 ohms at room temp, replace the sensor.

When I bake, my oven will start beeping and flash F2, what is that and how do I stop it?

Which manufacturer built your oven? The F2 error usually means that the oven temperature sensor is claiming the oven is too hot (or got too hot in the past). This usually requires replacing the temperature sensor. Sometimes, the control unit (clock) needs to be replaced.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the make and model of your oven for additional support.

GE OVEN THROWS F2 AND F3 CODES SOME TIMES WORKS FOR 45 MINUTES BEFORE CODE

Hello,

The F2 code means that the oven overheated by at least 100degrees(a bad sensor will cause that)
the F3 means that the oven sensor is shorted,so both of them are consistiant with defective oven tempature sensor and the sensor should be replaced.

The oven sensor is a pictured here oldtech2332_134.jpg
It is located in the oven baking chamber and can be replaced by unscrewing the screws from the bracket at the end of,pull it out unplug it,then reverse that process to install the new one.
With 2 different codes pointing to a bad sensor its apretty safe bets its bad.

Buzzing and f2 showing on display panel

Hello,

The F2 error code means that the over overheated by at least 100 degrees above the tempature that was set at the time. The usual reason the oven would over heat by so much is a defective oven tempature sensor and the sensor would need to be tested to see if is the problem to test the sensor it would need to disconnected from the wiring to it and measure the amount of ohms of resistiance AT ROOM TEMPATURE when the oven is off and cool. At room temp. the the meter used to check the sensor should display between 1060-1100 ohms,if the number is vastly different that 1060-1100 at room tempature the sensor is defiently bad and should be replaced. This is what the sensor looks like oldtech2332_129.jpg
it will be inside of the oven chamber and again to properly check it the wiring should be unplugged and the meter leads should be placed into the plug at the end of the sensor to measure the ohms

I need to see if I can obtain a manual for the PLT059-2 GE model gas oven. We are getting F2 and F3 errors but are unable to identify what those mean and the oven will not work properly.

Hello,

The F2&F3 error code both point to a defective oven tempature sensor being bad...to check the oven sensor unplug it from the wiring harness and use a digital meter to measure the ohms rating on it...check it at room tempature and check for between 1060-1100 ohms at room temp.
If it s way higher or lower that 1100ohms the temp.sensor is indeed going to be bad.

The sensor is in teh oven baking chamber and can normally be pulled out and checked after removing from inside of the oven

This is the oven sensor looks like oldtech2332_98.jpg

Old kenmore built in oven wont unlock

When I turn on my Maytag performa using the "bake" function, everything looks ok on the display, however the temp. never rises above 100. I've tried "bake" and "convect", and neither one work. "Clean" doesn't work either. The oven will lock, and display shows that it's heating up, but temp. never rises.
However....."broil" feature works just fine.
Please help.

ACCU BAKE codes come up e6 f2

You have the following error.
Cancel key drive line open

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

EO F2 on our Kenmore oven keeps coming up.

The "F2 - E0" error code means "Shorted keypad".

Remove power from the range, open the control panel and unplug the membrane switch ribbon from the control board.Reconnect power to the range and observe for an hour.If the error code reappear - replace the control board. If not - replace the membrane switch.

Error code f2 after replacing sensor.

If the sensor utilizes a plug, it is not uncommon for the plug connection to become intermittent. Cut the plug off the sensor and the wire harness. Directly 'hard wire' the sensor wires to the harness wires using CERAMIC wire nuts.. (no polarity here, sensor is a resistive element) regular plastic wire nuts will melt. If problem persists thereafter, the electronic control may have to be replaced.
