Loss of wireless connection

My laptop has stopped making a wireless internet connection to my Zoom X6. When I try the diagnosis it says there is a signal but limited connectivity.

It works OK with the ethernet cable connected.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is your laptop able to connect to other networks? If so, your router maybe at fault. Reset the router, if it still doesn't work, you may need a new router. If your laptop has issues connecting to other networks, the wifi radio in your laptop may need to be replaced.

If you're getting a limited or no connectivity message the primary reason for that is the network key that you're using isn't correct. It's possible that somebody change your security key. If that's the case I suggest call the router's manufacturer to get the right key or maybe there's a need for you to change the wireless channel of the router.

No Internet via zoom X6 wireless router to desk top, lap top ok.

Access your zoom router by using the laptop which still has access to the router.

Your going to have to open your Wireless Network Connection Status window located under your network settings.

If you see this window your going to left click the (details) button

Now you should see a IP DNS server address
for example: 192.168.1.xxx

Type that address onto the address bar of your web browser.

it should take you to your router setup page.

There you will need to check if the lan port is enabled

DSL Flashing

You dont need both. Do the following:
Unplug your speedtouch from the phone line at the back of the speedtouch unit. Plug that cable into your Zoom. Then plug one end of an ethernet cable into router and one end into your PC. Type http://10.0.0.2 into a web browser (eg. Firefox or Internet explorer) username/password is admin/zoomadsl go to basic setup and input your ISP username and password (the one given to you by your internet provider) under PPP. Click configure my connection. Save changes and then write to flash (both buttons on bottom of page)

Zoom aDSL modem/wireless router seen but not connecting

Here are a couple of ideas to look at first, assuming you haven't tried them already:

1) Does moving the router help? Sometimes a new DECT phone or a microwave, or even a piece of equipment at a neighbour's house, can interfere with the signal.

2) Does changing the channel on your router help at all? If there are many other networks using the same channel, this might block your own signal.
3) If this does not make any difference, it might be worth checking your security settings.

you need a ethernet network card, if you want it connected to the x6 directly, or you can get a wireless card for the desktop.
the instruction for setup the x6 is straight forward. but you need to follow it to the letter, otherwise it won't work.

Zoom X6 internet light constantly red

the internet light, is usually a blinking green, showing that it's seeing the internet signal. The only reason it's red, is cause there's no net signal..double check the phone line going into the back of your router, and change it if you need to.

Zoom adsl x6

If the Internet light is off it means you are not either authenticated at your provider or your configurations are wrong on the modem. If you go to your command prompt and type ipconfig and check your IP address and your default gateway. The IP address on your default gateway would be your router put that IP address on your browser and should be able to see your modem setting and any error messages that could help resolve your issue

presuming that the router moved with you the telephone line socket could be too far away from the BT socket or is not correctly wired. if you have not moved the router then you need to buy a booster
