Deel Truemobile 1450 dualband wireless card

I recently had my inspiron in for replacement of the motherboard. When I got it back, there is no recoginition of the wireless adapter. Any chance the drivers were somehow lost or did the shop simply replace the motherboard and forget to include the wireless card?

I downloaded and installed the drivers as suggested, but this did not fix the problem. My computer is not even acknowledging that I have a wireless capability. Have any other ideas?

  • BigDawg67 Feb 05, 2008

It doesn't show up in device manager and I don't know how to check the bios

  • BigDawg67 Feb 05, 2008

OK. I just checked and it shows NOT INSTALLED. The repair shop must have not reinstalled it when they changed the motherboard or they got the wrong motherboard. Your thoughts? How can I find out where to install a new one?

Hi,
The problem is with the driver click here to download it.

Installation Instructions:

1. download the file.
2.When the File Download window appears, click Save (Windows XP
users will click Save) this program to disk and click OK. The Save In:
window appears.
3.From the Save In: field, click the down arrow then click to
select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop.
4.If the Download Complete window appears, click Close. The file
icon appears on your desktop.

Install

1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R140747.EXE.
2.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or
unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R140747. Write down this path so the executable (I.e.
Setup.exe) file can be found later.
3.The Self-Extractor window appears.
4.Click OK.
5.After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
window is still open, close it.
6.Click the Start button and then click Run.
7.Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R140747 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
8.Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

Goodluck,

    hi,
The first thing is click on my computers select properties then device manager then click on network adapter and see if u have a wireless adapter,if u have one just double click on it and in the DEVICE STATUS box see if the device is working properly if it is then go to DRIVER tab and select update driver..

Before doing the update remove the driver which i gave you..

And if u don't see a wireless adapter in the network adapter then u don't have one.. You have to buy a new one and install it..
    This will fix ur problem..

Well I think for the 600m, it has built-in wireless already thus making it wireless capable.

TrueMobile won't connect to my network

Over the past few months I have seem more of this issue. I am beginning to think that there may be Microsoft updates that could be conflicting with the wireless network adapter config. But this is only a speculation.

In the mean time, you may have a faulty wireless card. If the unit is under warranty, have Dell replace it. If not, you could disable the internal one and purchase a Linksys Wireless G or N USB adapter from Staples....just to rule it out.

Wireless signal degredation

Disable and renable wireless card, even try unistalling the wireless card and reinstall it. update driver for wireless card. then if those fail, put pc next to router if signal still bad then card needs replaced. If your ISP didnt have you power off the router for 30 sec then do so.

Hi, Sometimes the built-in Windows Wireless Configuration Utility fouls up. You may have to install and use the Client Manager Application for the TrueMobile 1150 Wireless Network Card. This is better explained at Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
