I recently got a hp 1020 printer. But my vaio notebook does not recognize my hp1020. I have to mention that the instalation process could not be completed on my notebook. What do you suggest me to do?
Compare the specs of the notebook to the system requirement of the printer... Usually its memory. If so, then you have to add memory to your notebook... Also some requires a higher screen resolution... increase resolution of needed.
Post me back if there are some issues.... happy Fixya

Hi, Clean the Paper Feed Rollers with wet cloth. Then go to start-ControlPanel-Printers-select Hp1020 printer-properties-features-change the Paper Type as PLAIN PAPER.
When I try to print word file on my printer HP Laser Jet 1020 the driver of the printer is always escape. Every once in a week it is happening with me.
Plz give your best salutation to me for rectify this problem.
Your best bet to solve this will be to do the following. Go to HP.COM and download the VISTA 32bit driver to your computer. Go to the printer folder and right click on the icon for the 1020 driver that works intermittently, select printer properties. Click the advanced tab and you will see an option next to the currrently installed driver that says "new driver". Click on this and when the install starts say have driver and point it to the file you downloaded. The Vista drivers seem to work for most printers better than the downloaded ones that Win 7 installs automatically.
Your install disk may have been distributed before the release of Win7. You could download and install the full-featured software from HP support: (choose your operating system)
Go to the HP website and get the driver. Here's the link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=439320&
