Lexmark X1185 won't Print Color
On your printer, there is a clean print head adjustment,it is in your menus on the printer itself, It should also be on your print driver in properties. I would try running that up to 5 times before proceding to anything else.
Check and be sure the cartridge expiration date is not exceded. The liquid ink cartridges have an expiration dates. Even though the cartridge is new, Do not rule out a bad or for some reason dryed out cartridge or blocked port at the bottom. If it is indeed brand new and you have the receipt, I honetsly would suspect the cartridge itself.
Ok now, we tried the print head cleaning, and a second cartridge.
Next, I would remove the cartridge, turn the printer off and lightly, very lightly dampn a dusfree cloth with some alcohol, and where the cartridge is located, clean those contacts. reinsert the cartridge and see what happens.
Lastly, you can unplug the printer, remove the cartridges, and place a paper towel under the area where the cardtidge latches in, and dribble in a soapy cleaner, like fantastic, because those inks will dry out in the ports and not allow the ink to flow properly, If you do that, wipe all the excess cleaner up and leave the printer off for an hour or two to allow any remaining liquid to evaporate. Don't use a lot, but trickle it in until you see the ink start to wash out and all the ink is removed.
Take your time, and go from easiest to more difficult. I think that is the process I presented.
It will not print a color test page when program settings are on color or when done from the printer itself.
