Dell UltraSharp 1907FP 19" LCD Monitor Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jan 06, 2010

My screen develops some ghost images after powered up for a few hours. I can actually see some words that appear almost burnt into a screen. Similar to a monitor that has been left on too long if someone did not use a screen saver. The images come and go so they are not burnt into the screen. Also the bottom blue tool bar is washing out with white color in the lower right corner where the program icons appear. This only happens after extended use. On boot up, it looks fine??

Well you are correct and when it come's with the lcd monitors it is known that when a pixel is subjected to same amount of charge for a long time it might retain the residue of charge even after the amount is changed so this reason why you get this problem and in order tackle this just try to use some changing screen savers or just turn the monitor switch off while you are not around it.

good luck.

900 hours and I am seeing some image retention. How to remove them?

In a few words, you can't.
Panasonic Plasma Screens have a movement option that slowly moves the screen around a few milimetres
I the burning is bad and all you can see is Sky TV's frames or Sport frames, the way to reduce the effect, and this is official, is to turn up the screen brightness on a white background. This will burn the rest of the screen to a similar level!
Unbelievable but having done that for a number of hours, when one increases the brightness to compensate for a burnt screen, it is slightly better.
(I do not advocate that, I would not let it burn in the first place.)

Good luck
Hope that helps.

We are getting ghost images and the color is not correct

I have red concave lines going across the screen, plus wording appears double like a ghosting effect, this is ongoing from the time the tv is turned on until it is turned off. This started 3 days ago. Is it time for a new tv, its 9 or 10 yrs old now.

Dell latitude D600 display blacks out, showing just a ghost image

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is the backlight.

If you see a very dim image or flicking image on the LCD screen it means you have a backlight problem.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Epson C1900 "ghost " images

Sounds like the transfer roller or the fuser unit may be faulty. Look at the fuser to see if the roller surfaces are dirty. If so, replace the fuser.
