Even if the game isn't scratched, you should try holding it under a light to see if there are any fingerprints or smudges on the disc. You can try cleaning the disc with a lint-free cloth if you've got one, though I've never had trouble with a cotton t-shirt. Wipe from the center of the disc straight towards the outer edge. Do this for the entire disc and try it again.
If that doesn't work, please update this issue with the error message you're seeing if any. Does the disc show up in the PS2 browser? Do you get a disc read error? Does the screen just go black when you try to play the game?
your best bet is to buy a ps1 console because you can buy one for 5 pounds maximum i have seen one for sale for 50p some people give them away for free hope i helped
clean the disk with disk cleaner clean the lens of your ps2 with a cd cleaner meaning a cd with brushes on the other side of it or with some rubbing alcohol then it should let you read your games
you will need to replace lens but due to the cost of the part i recommend you getting a new one or if not do a pot adjustment or clean lens with alcohol and Q-tip
hello try cleaning disc and lense..if disc has scratches .ones that go straight across disc are not to bad but if they follow disc in a circle ,lens will follow scratch as it is reading.when cleaning disc use a cleaner as any thing else will scratch..also try another game to see if your lens is okay .they can fail for no reason.
Check your disk for scratches fingerprints ect,, if thats all good step two try useing a lens cleaner
****(( tip and trick for scratched disks ))**** a crayon rubbed on the disk then wiped off with a lint free cloth no t-shirts dish towels that will just add more scratches remember start at the center wipeing out to the edge.
