I have a tank-less on demand bosch gwh 2400 E LP water heater. It worked great for quite a while but now every so often it tries to start and then doesnt and the error code "EA" flashes on the desplay pannel and it tries three or so times to start and then just flashes that symbol and im sick of cold water so if you have ant sort of advice that might help me i would certainly apreciate it. (:
BOSH AQ 250 On demand propane water heater ran out of propane, got gas now, but get EC flashing on the display and the unit won't fire? Lost manual, any suggestions. Thanks, Jim
EC and EA are ignition problems. Clean flame rod and purge any air in propane supply system.
Additionally on a propane system if you have an appliance regultor to protect the unit from overpressure (LP is 10-14" of WC) make sure it hasn't locked up and won't pass gas.Watch the regs on LP as I've had one overpressurize a Bosch 2400 and toast it beyond repair. Funny how no one including the propane supplier remembers who provided the reg for the house under construction. Also on the flame rod cleaning comment never use sandpaper use a scotchguard pad and also may need a gasket (ignition set gasket) from Bosch as the original shreds when removed with the ignitor/flame rod set and is hard to reseal the fire box.
