You may need to replace the thermostat or the thermostat batteries if applicable. To replace the thermostat follow the instructions on the new thermostat. Make sure to set the thermostat to the gas setting(see instructions) this should cure your problem. Good Luck on the repairs

True air heat tries to start then goes to gas.It worked fine in the fall but it is now -5F

Do you have a heat pump and gas furnace setup? Or is it electric and gas setup.

To me it sounds like either configuration issue its electric and gas, but if its heat pump/gas the furnace is defaulting to gas more then likely on the outside air temperature, usually most heat pumps only heat good down to 10 degrees F.

If the induction motor ain't going I would look for a blown 3 amp (purple) fuse on the control board. If that was good I would check if any of the roll out switches were tripped. If a rollout switch was tripped check or air restrictions somewhere.

Check the ground wire to the gas valve or the wire in the middle of the gas valve that says mv--pv, and that is a ground..

Carrier Gas Furnace runs fine randomly stops blowing LEDs flash

That blinking light may be the diagnostic light. Count the blinks next time it fails. Carrier units will have two different blinks depicting the error code such as one blink followed by a pause than 3 blinks giving you an error code of 13. Then look at the wiring diagram, it will have an error code chart telling you where to start with your diagnosis. You already know that if you remove the cover it erases the error code, so look thru the small window first.

Furnace runs OK, but blower runs again a few seconds later

Could be a defective thermostat in the plenum.
When a gas furnace shuts down the fan(blower) will run until the plenum cools to the safe range. Usually 1 and 1/2 minutes.
Intermittent operation is a defective thermostat or relay.

Your hot surface igniter may be bad. It may be cracked which would prevent it from starting the burner flame.
