Inserted disc into the xbox 360 elite 120 gb and now the disc has got a deep continous scrached ring around the face of the disc now the xbox 360 will not read the disc so im not able to play on it.

Here is something you can try and I know it sounds strange.
Get some toothpaste and put a very thin layer over the bottom of the disc.
Let it dry completely and then rinse it in cold water until its clean.
The reason this works(sometimes) is because the toothpaste does the same for the disc that it does for your teeth. It fills in the scratches.
Try it at your own risk but I have gotton a few more months at least by doing this.

Did this occur by moving the console while the game is running?

If so then you have ringed your disc and it is unplayable.

Your disc was most likely laserburned. The xbox will do this if you run a disc for a long stretch, this problem may occur... To continue playing the game, you will need to obtain a good disc and install the game to your hardrive. You will then be able to play the game on your laserburned disc.

Try cleaning the disc and check it for deep scraches. if it has deep scraches get a skip Dr (works like a champ) if this does not work. is the DVD drive and you should call a xbox 360 Repair shop.

Xbox 360 Elite has a bigger hard drive and a HDMI port. [Some non-Elites already have a HDMI port]<-- if you dont.. you CANT add a HDMI port..

geting a 120GB .hard drive will be the only upgrade that can be done

no you still have a warranty microsoft extended there warranty due to console problems so call up xbox talk to max. and the warranty ends 2010

you will need to take this apart, and look inside the disc drive itself, and most likely tights some screws up as they get loose with the vibrations of the drive

Check the region code on the disc. There should be a code around the inside ring of the disc.

While disc scratching is known to occur if you move your XBox360 console from vertical to horizontal position while the disc is spinning or by bumping the console while the disc is spinning, there have also been reports that discs have become scratched when the console has not been moved at all. The official line from Microsoft is: "If you are experiencing scratched discs without moving your console you should contact 1-800-4MYXBOX for warranty support from Microsoft." Unfortunately, Microsoft will not replace your scratched discs for free. Instead, they offer a scratched disc replacement program with a charge of $20 per disc. Depending on how deep the scratches are determines if they can be fixed. There are many pastes and polishes, even a sander. For scratches that are not too deep and don't reach the reader (inner part by the hole) I used a banana, sounds crazy but actually worked great. May not work on bad scratches though.
