My Sony TV- KF60WE610 turns on for about 8 seconds and then turns off by itself. One minute later It turns on again for 8 sec. and off for 1min. and repeats this cycle. When it is on I can see approx. 500-1000 Blue pixels stuck in the middle of the screen. Need help to find out if the problem is in the light or the optical block?
I called a Technician to ask about the problem and was told that could be 2 problems: 1- The light and 2- The optical block. I checked Sony website and found out that if the problem is in the optical block, they can pay for the repair, however, the technician from the Sony authorized service center must verify that the problem is in the optical block. This apply to several models until June 30, 2008. I guess because several customers complained for the same problem so that Sony has to extended their warranty. Please check Sony website to make sure that I read it right. Thanks.
You will most likely need the service manual to pinpoint the problem correctly. If you do not have a manual you can ge one at the following link. I believe its 10.99. They will also email you after purchase to inquire if you would like the manual emailed out right away. I have used them many times and I always get my manuals emailed to me very quickly. Here is the Link.

The light (costs about $140 including S & H) will fix the first problem if the TV turned on for few seconds and then turned off then on and off again. The blue pixels stuck in the middle of the screen is the other problem. This could be the optical block.
