I have an older emerson tv that I can not get to pick up channels above 36. It is pluged directly into my cable outlet. When I hook up another tv it will get around 90 channels. Is there a setting I can change to fix this?

I think you are confusing the channel on the tv and the channel of the cable company that is not something that you can pick up with the scan tv, scan tv is good for picking up local channel meaning air channel that we get with a antenna only not the cable chanel

Red and white are audio lines and all yellow is video. You sound like you are missing the video line.

IM GUESSING THIS MIGHT BE AN RCA TELEVISION? if you dont have an rca in hook up on the tv give up and buy a new tv or you can find an older item what it is is a switch that has an rca input and a coax output it was used to hook up the older video game systems it is still sold in most stores and that will work if you do have rca inputs and lost the remote you need to get a universal remote to switch the input on certain older rca tv's you could go to channel 00 and it would set it to the input with the switch you shoudl be able to use it by putting the tv on channel 3

Hey, most stations are not broadcasting analog anymore. That is why you are only getting 10 channels.

ON THE CABLE SETTING ALL YOU GOING TO GET IS #36 this is an old tuner . in those days there where never going to be 36 channels ! the thing your getting hung up on is the marketing of the 110 ch tuner how that works take73 brodcast chanels add 37 cable chanels and you get 110 ITS ALL MARKETING

Check and make sure your tv is set to CABLE and not to AIR or ANTENNA. This setting is usually just above the Auto Search utility on the meNU.

When you had the old combo hooked up the tv was on channel 3 now you have hooked up to s cable or component, you have to switch the tv input to the input you are pluged into using the tv remote

hey i sort of hav the same problem except, i cant access the "channel" with my sons game stuff on it
if i click menue then it just givs me "Picture" "Channel Set" "Language" "V-Chip Set-Up" "Captions" and if i click channel set i get "CH{TY}" "CH{CATV}" "CH{DTV/TV}" and v-chip asks me for an access code. and i got this tv from a friend and he lost the remote. i only hav an iO Digital Cable remote. help me plz
