Logitech Z-5300 subwoofer from computer to i-pod problem...
Went up north with friends and brought with me Logitech Z-5300 sound system... We let the sound system cool down for 3 hours (was in the car for about 5-6 hours in minus temperature)and started playing music for about 10 hours (pretty loud)! All went well until we went to bed and closed the computer... In the morning, decided to play music again and everything worked well (lower volume), until my friend decided to plug his ipod... When he plugged it, the sub stopped functioning! We replugged it to the computer and nothing... Fuse looks fine, cables look fine... everything works except the subwoofer! Another thing is when you open the power to the sound system, on the logitech controller, everything turns red except the sub (volume, sub, fader, center), which means that the sub does not work! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
My sound system is about 2-3 years old, so I can't get it replaced... The problem probably occured after switching from the computer to the ipod! That's when the subwoofer stopped working! I tried changing from 5.1 surround to 2 speakers, and nothing sub not functioning! I miss the bass at home :( Need help!

Re: Logitech Z-5300 subwoofer from computer to i-pod...
The best thing to do is to contact the manufacturers. From this i understood that your speaker system is new. You surely have the manufacturer's guarantee. So its better to contact them than to get it repaired or replaced for free. Sir please do not try to open the sub as it will void the guarantee policy.
Hope your subs come into play as soon as possible....... All the best...

I have a suggestion that you can try. If the unit is no longer turning on and you're sure the electrical outlet is good (by plugging in another device) and the hand-held control panel is on, as well as the switch at the base of the subwoofer, then try replacing the fuse. The subwoofer on this model has a fuse near where the power cord enters the subwoofer. There is a slotted screwdriver slot on the fuse cover. Using a flat-head screwdriver (or your thumbnail), turn the cover about a 1/4 to a 1/2 a turn and the fuse should pop out. Keep the cover. Replace the fuse with a 4 amp, 125V (or higher) fuse that is a slow-blow fuse. There are fast blow (or fast acting) and slow blow (or slow acting) fuses. You can't replace one for the other. You should be able to find a fuse at Radio Shack. If a new fuse doesn't get your system working again, then something else is broken. Good luck.
Try pulling the power from the unit for a few minutes, the reconnect. Make sure you've got the surround settings correct. If that doesn't do it, you've likely popped the amp or the amp's power supply in the sub box.
Hi...
Im not sure if this will help u but check ur Remote's power botton.
Maybe its stuck?
It happened to me before... Was wondering y it turns itself on/off and found out later that the power botton on remote is stuck.
U should hear the clicking sound everytime u turn it on or off.
Otherwise... something else is wrong with the power switch on ur remote.
I'm having this same problem and have sort of solved it with a really wierd technique I found at Logitech. Evidently this problem is related to the control pod rather then the RCA jack. Try this:
Unplug the control pod from the subwoofer
Turn off the main switch
Turn the volume knob one full turn, tap the knob
Repeat again (2 times)
Replug the control pod
Turn on the main switch and the control pod
See what happens
I found that this got the speaker working finicky after it was almost totally useless. It seems to be cutting out randomly, but fidgeting with the control pod or it's connector jack fixes it. No clue what the deal is here, but your problem is identical to mine so take some time to screw around with these components with music running so you can hear if it suddenly works.
try dropping it from a tall building. Seems to me you should go to Logitech support; they will be familiar with this problem, and should fix it in ** time, or else buy their newest, latest, most expensive replacement. If you are in warranty, and they can't fix it online, send it back for a replacement.
in my view, it is due to any of the following
1. its fuse burnout or wire breaked, check fuse and cordwire
2. its subwoofer coil is damaged to loud volume, replace it
3. its amplifier IC is damaged, replace IC
