DVD Door Will Not Open

Cannot get the DVD door to open whether hitting the button at the machine or using the remote. I tried holding the power and eject buttons at the same time but did not work.

DVR4000 dvd door will not open, eject button does not cause any action, pushing on the door does not cause any action.

I see others suggest opening to clean/clear belts. How do you get to the belts?

My door want open from the inside or outside

This sounds like theres a problem with the latch or the linkage. the first thing would be to get the door open but lets hold off on that for now.
Use the key and t ry to lock and unlock the door and see if you can, then try to lock and unlock the door using the button, let me know if it can lock and unlock. this test is to see if maybe the lock actuator is frozen. a frozen actuator will not allow you to unlock the door from inside or with a key but if you can lock and unlock then there maybe another problem. take note as you move the lock button make sure it moves up and down all the way or if it fells tight, if irs fine then the next step is to try and get the door open or remove the door panel to get inside the door. this may be hard but can be done.
try pushing on door and pulling on handle to try and open door. Another trick is to try and hold lock button in unlock postion and hold with a little force while pulling on handle to open the door.

If disk door wont open - stays locked

I called Samsung who suggested pushinhg the play button on the panel and the power button on the remote together. "No disc" eventually showed on the screen and pushing the open/close door button worked.

However, my remote wouldn't work, even after changing batteries.
The machine did play. Unfortunately, later that night I tried another DVD and it locked up again. The next day I tried the above 2-step and it worked again, so maybe the other DVD caused trouble. But I cant get my remote to do anything except the 2-step listed above.

I don't use the player very often.

Power door is not delatching

there is a door lock actuator that has failed, it releases the latches so the door can open. you need to remove the door panel. unbolt the window and tape it as to hold the window up then remove the window regulator assembley then unbolt the lock actuator from the back side.

Door won't open

Those kind of problems just require that the door open one time. However, to do that you will have to take the cover off the player with the power off of course. Once you have take the cover off ( only a few screws ) you will be able to see the disk player well enough to see the back part of it. There are two ways you can do this, first, is to power the player back on, press the power button on. Then when you press the open door button or use your remote whichever, have your finger on the very back end of the carriage that holds the disk and push to the front gently as it tries to open the door, you will know because you will hear a short click from a relay. If you cannot open it after a couple of tries then power it off again and unplug it. There are only four screws that hold the disc player part in itself. Take those four screw off so you can lift it far enough to get to the bottom front of the disc player. Once you can do that, without the power on, there is a white neoprene part that moves from left to right or right to left to open and close the door. You will be able to see it and you can manually slide the part to whichever side it will move and that will open the door. You can gently push the door back closed and open it again a few times. Then place the disc player back in place with the screws in and power it up and open the door with the remote or button. It should open. What happens is that depending on how long the player has set on a wharehouse shelf or just around even if it is new, the lithium grease that they use for the moving parts dries out and it needs a little push and use to work properly again. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

The DVD drawer will not open

I have the same problem. Best way to open the door is to hit the eject button and then bang lightly on the door using the remote controller. Works every time.

Dvd player won't open

I had the same problem for my panasonic dvd player (ht540). Neither of the above solutions worked so I found this one on the panasonic website:

1. turn off unit by holding down the POWER button for 10 seconds.

2. unplug the power cord and wait for one minute.

3. plug the cord back in and turn on the unit

4. when the dvd begins to play, press "EJECT".

It worked for me. The site for other troubleshooting is:
