Mitsubishi VS-50707 While watching last night the tv made an arcing noise and shut down. When I try to turn it on now I get the same arcing noise and it shuts down immediatley. I pushed the menu and input buttons for diagnostics and I get 2 blinks a pause and it blinks this for a total of 10 times for a total of 20 blinks. I took off the back cover and observed as my wife pushed the on button and the arcing is occuring at one of the projector lenses. I have a meter and am knowledgable enough to propably get into trouble, but always want to have some info before calling in a service man. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

slinteriors, FYI I disconnected the heavy Red wire (similar in size to a spark plug wire) that runs to the Blue crt that was the one that the arc occurs at. The Tv now works but of course there is no blues. what this tells me is that either the blue crt is shorted out as you suggested or the circut board needs resoldered. I couldn't identify any leakage coming from any of the crts. My next step will be to check the circuit board and also wait for the repair manual to arrive. Are repair manuals available from Mitsubishi? I can't fine mine.
