Hi

Well for what you describe it sounds like the symptoms of a worn out lamp giving you the last kicks, basically the the lamps are design to go for 6,000 to 8,000 lamp hours if they're Phillips and a generic lamp could give you 3500 to 4500 lamp hours so with this in mind you could search for a new lamp at Discount-merchant.com or you can go to Ebay also you can go to www.fixyourdlp.com for more troubelshooting

Please rate this if it was helpful.as I do this for free.

Regards

Replaced DLP lamp on Samsung HLS5687WX, no picture and in a series of 3 lights on front, first one red others green?

That looks like an error code to me. The manual *should* tell you what that means. this site:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/HL-S5687W
has a manual if you don't have it.

Samsung DLP has gone darker

The 60 K hours is bogus---Average life on a OEM lamp is 2,000 hours or two years average---if you got four or more years you were lucky.

The picture of my Samsung DLP tv is getting darker. We have had several power outages over the past few days as a result of the hurricane. Do I need to make an adjustment?

Yes, or it can also be a burned fuse, you can take it to a service center and repair it yourself.
Or maybe the power outage just disconfigured the Tv try resetting it.
