I've had the Canon IXUS 400 for quite some time now and has always worked without problems. However one fine day The LCD screen went blank. It can still take photos and I can see them on the PC, it can zoom and presumably focus but there is no way I can see what I am shooting. What can I do and will it be worth repairing?
I have a PowerShot A630 and have used it since Dec 06. Three days ago the screen blacked out on me, and I can't see the pictures that I took. Everything else works and I can still take pictures, problem is I can't see what I've taken until I download them on my computer.
You have accidentally turned the lcd pannel button off.just turn it on.

For any self respecting programmer/hacker, the instructions at http://users.utu.fi/paanni/camera.html maybe close to what you want.

My Canon A630 's screen went blank all of a sudden while taking snaps....,couldn't get back to original state after trying to reset...even to reset,we need to see the display, connected to laptop, couldn't rectify the problem....the camera's manual was of no use at all in rectifying the problem....I tried asking at G.K.Vale,Mysore(camera specialist people),they didn't know wat to do.they know only to sell cameras i feel.they referred me to Canon service center in Bangalore.....Don't know wat to do,set changes in camera etc....only option left is to take to "Canon service"
I was using my Canon Powershot A630, which has worked well for one year, and without dropping it or getting it wet, the LCD screen went blank. It still takes photos which download fine, zooms, flash goes on and off, but LCD screen is dead. Tried turning camera off and on a few times, and installing fresh batteries to no avail.
