Question about Logitech Harmony One LCD Touchscreen Remote Control

2 Answers

Hi..does anyone know how to remove the battery from the Harmony One. Is there some kind of trick that I'm missing. Mine won't come out of the battery holder. It seems to be able to move a little, so I'm not sure it's one of those that is bulging, or if it's just my fingers aren't stron enough. Help

OK, here is the way to do it without any damage to the remote OR battery, even if the battery has bulged out.
Lift up battery with a small knife. Take a length of strong tape and push it under that battery, with the sticky side up. Push it as far in as you can get. Now remove the knife and push down on the battery. Take the other end of the tape and push it in between the top of the battery and the case. You now have a "tab" to pull the battery out with. Enjoy!

Actually, there is more room on the top so I used 2 pieces of clear packing tape on the top then pushed the battery in then lifted and pulled. Out came the battery which had bulged at the middle of the top. Worked like a charm. Thanks to the original poster's hint.

Thanks. I only put one piece of packing tape on top, pushed the battery in and up, then pulled on the packing tape and it came out. It was slightly bulging in the middle.

Push in and then up. it should come out.
if the battery has room to move, the battery is not bulging.

Low battery icon on, won't recharge

Hi. If you do some research, you will find that this is a common issue with the Harmony One remote. I suggest using an elastic band to hold the remote firm onto the charger. That works for me.

Remote display is lit blue but will not display any information like name of devices, commands ect

Try removing the batteries and updating the program from the Harmony software. Then replace with new fresh batteries. This may not fix your problem but it often does the trick. Sometimes these remotes get "confused".

Wont connect what do i do?

Hi!

I had this issue with my harmony remote and the following steps got it back up and running properly!!

1) Ensure all firewalls and antivirus programs are allowing the Harmony Remote Software to work properly.
2) Use a different UBS port/cable.
3) Use a different computer if available.
4) Try putting the Harmony Remote in safe mode. The following are the steps to accomplish this:
a) Remove the battery from the Harmony Remote.
b) Press and hold the power button while reinserting the battery into the Harmony Remote.
c) To get out of safe mode, remove the battery for 10 seconds and reinsert it into the Harmony Remote.
5) Uninstall the software from your computer.
6) Install the software from the website at www.logitech.com/myharmony.

I hope this helps!!!

My harmony 550 always stops one input before the one I need on my TV. my tv has an input button that cycles thru all of the inputs. i've already checked that the inputs are listed properly on the setup...

On some TV's when you first press the input button it does not switch to the next input it just shows you the current input. It is the 2nd press that offten takes you to the next input in the list. This can cause problems with the Harmony. If your TV works this way then you will need to call Logitech and let them know about this issue. They can add the additional hit for you and then you can update your remote. If you are only using 2 inputs then A work around you can try is to tell the Harmony that there are more inputs, effectivly setting up Ghost inputs. You would put one ghost input after each input that you use. If there are 3 or more inputs then this trick will not work. The last work around is to remove unused inputs on your TV. Most TV will allow you to remove unused inputs. Then you can add one ghost input after each actual input: For example:
TV input1
Ghost1
DVD input2
Ghost2
VCR input 3
Ghost3

If I am missing some information just let me know.
I will do my best to help
Good Luck

My 880 will not charge I used this 2 years ago and it worked The remote still holds the old settings I now want yo use it but the unit said battery low recharge. I tried to charge it but it would not...

There is a trick with these remotes. Take a tiny piece of paper and
wedge it in between the battery and the side of the battery compartment
opposite the battery contacts when you insert battery.
This will apply more pressure between battery contacts and remote.
Now your harmony should properly charge up overnight.
Had the same problem with mine and the paper trick fixed it.
Was even able to use the old battery again.
Has something to do with the three contacts on the battery.
All 3 need to make good contact.

Touch screen display broken

HI! Here's what to do if your Logitech Harmony remote's LCD screen has gone blank.

1. Remove the battery, press and hold the 'OFF' button, and re-insert the battery. The screen will display 'Safe Mode!', or the 'Activities' button will be lit.

2. Connect your remote to the computer.

3. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.

4. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware".

5. The remote will go through the firmware update.

6. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.

If the screen is still blank after you complete these steps, then it is a hardware issue and you should contact Logitech's wonderful support team, given that the remote is still under warranty. If you are not in warranty, Logitech does not provide repair services for Harmony products.

Hope that helps.

Remote appears frozen

I got the same issue with mine, and hooking to the computer and upgrading the firmware worked for me. I first had to take the bateries out and let it sit for 24 hours so it would loose the codes inside. No problems after that.
