My Viewsonic N3235W TV screen has gone black. The power button does not work either and I have to unplug the TV from the wall to turn it off. It all started when the remote had problems and we tried to configure a universal remote to control the TV. While doing that programming the TV screen went black with occasional white streak around the top. No sound either. Is there a way to reset the set to factory settings and start over with another remote?

Solution - just press Menu, Enter and Power buttons at once.

It worked like a charm and took about 10 minutes to put in new part and put tv back together.

The monitor should come when the power button is pressed once - period. If not, and it continues to happen when connected to another PC, then the hardware is having trouble powering up the panel / ccds and it should be replaced/serviced according to the terms of the warranty. I suggest to bring it to an authorized service center for proper diagnosis & fix the problem. regards

On the tv itself hold down channel up button while holding that press and hold the menu button . this will un lock it
