Installing a web cam creactive

Hello,
  • 1)Insert the software and drivers disk into your CD/DVD drive. If an auto play window pops open, select the "Install" option. This will begin the installation wizard automatically. If the auto play option doesn't start, go on to Step 2.

    2) Double-click on the computer icon on your desktop or navigate to "My Computer" by opening up the Start menu and selecting "My Computer." A window will pop open. Right-click on the drive were the disc is located, for example DVD Drive (F:). Select the "Install" option to start the installation wizard.

  • 3)Plug your webcam into the desired USB port. If you have not installed the drivers, the device driver wizard will begin searching for the drivers on its own. Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 utilize the plug-and-play option and will automatically find the drivers for you. However, it is recommended to install the drivers from the disc or from the Creative Labs website.

My Operation system is window 98 and I wish to use USB memory strick, but I can install the driver for win 98

Both Microsoft and SanDisk stopped support for Windows 98 (that is the 1998 version of Windows) in the middle of 2008 (two years ago). So, if Windows 98 does not recognize the "plug-and-play" device (manufactured since the middle of 2008), then you'll have to upgrade your computer to Windows XP or Vista or 7, or use an "older" flash-drive that Windows 98 did support.

CPU won't read it im running xp

Ok, here's some step by step instructions.

First is the light on the nexstar coming on when you plug it in, if so what colour? If not try using both USB connectors on the PC end to plug in, it's possible you're not getting enough power if the light is not on as many 2.5" hdd enclosures require 2 USB connections one for power and data and the other for additional power.

Next, if the light is on but no drive in my computer, right-click on my computer, then left-click manage, select disk management from the MCC window that pops up. If your Nexstar HDD shows up here, identify it on the bottom part of the window and report back what is said there.

If it is not there and the light is on, try a different USB port. If the light is not on or you tried the other ports and still no luck the enclosure itself may have failed.

Try moving the HDD into a new enclosure and try again. If this works, Great, if not then the HDD may be damaged and may need a pro to get your files back. If that is the case report back here with your progress and region and I will recommend an appropriate pro.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris
