Hitachi C10FCE2 10" Compound Miter Saw Logo

I have just gotten my Hitachi 10'' compound mitre saw (C10FCE2) out of the box, and have disengaged the packing pin, and put on the stabilizion bar and handle. I can not seem to get the blade to tilt back to perpendicular with the table surface. I have loosened the one exposed bevel screw (hegagonal in the front) but that doesn't seem to help. The tilt handle will not move. What am I missing?

The tilt handle is in the back, and it is the one that I can't move. The front handle moves fine to adjust the angle on the flat plane, but I can't get the blade to adjust to perpendicular so that I can make an angle cut on a flat plane.

I finally figured it out. The whole shaft of the handle must be turned to release the tilt. It is threaded opposite (you were right there, connor), and it was very tight, but once I loosened it, I was able to move the blade to center. Of course, the directions Hitachi provided were less than useful.

How do i replace switch on Hitachi miter saw

Oh come on.
You know the answer.
You start taking out screws until you can see the switch and then you replace it with a new one from the parts supply store.
Then you put all the screws back in.

How do you unlock it so you can lift the blade up. Not in the manual

There is a small pin or lever on the right side, a few inches in front of where the hinge is. You have to pull the pin out about a half inch. But the spring that is trying to raise the saw will be working against you. So you have to push down slightly on the front of the saw with your left hand while you pull out the pin with your right hand.

Cant pull out locking pin on miter saw

There is a heavy spring which is trying to hold up the saw that is working against you. Press down on the handle of the saw so that it moves down a little, now you should be able to pull out the pin.
Good luck.

Is there an arbour lock on this saw so that I can tighten the bolt after putting on a new blade?

i cant tell you for sure, but, usually just put a piece of wood on the plate or deck, pull the saw down and have the blade make contact with the wood. tighten the nut and hold downward pressure
