Basedon information you have provided I understand that there is some problem installing the Printer.I realize the inconvenience it may have caused you.
As per my analysis, you should follow the steps mentioned below:
ISSUE 1 A Cannot install this hardware - Access is denied or Fatal Error message displays when installing the product software in Windows XP. The installation stops and the only option is to click the Finish or OK button, depending on the error message
1) Un Plug the power and diconnect the USB Connetion to the printer
2) Click on this Link Driver for for HP PSC 1315 All-in-One Printer
3) Select the Correct Printer Modle
4) Click your product model number if it appears on the Select your product list. Or type in the product model name under Search products.
5) Click Software & driver downloads.
6) Click the Windows XP link.
7) Under the Update heading, click Resolves "Access is denied" error during software installation . The Download options and information window opens.
8) Click Install now .
9) Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the udpate.
10) Try installing the HP product software again.
