I got the kodak easy share 143 model camera coming brand new off of ebay yesterday,,,but it keeps saying my batteries are half drained, then dead after a couple of photos. Then if they're dead it...

Alkaline batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pictures in today's power hungry digital cameras. Some batteries may also have reached their shelf life at the store, and though brand-new right out of the package may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. The one's that came with your camera are just to show you that the camera works, but as you've discovered, they'll only last for a few pictures. Digital cameras that use AA's for the most part should only be used with modern rechargeable batteries. If you read the camera's instruction manual concerning batteries, you should see the same recommendation.
Modern rechargeable batteries have over 5 times the power density of alkaline batteries (that's right, they last up to 5 times longer than an alkaline battery. And you can recharge them over and over!). Keep in mind rechargeable batteries will save you much money in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may be angry with yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

My polaroid A800 will not hold a charge. After taking a few pictures the batteries go dead. I use Polaroid batteries.

The Polaroid are good batteries, but! by your description they need to be replaced because it won't hold a full charge.

Draining rechargable batteries;

Carry spare alkaline batteries - just in case...
Does the same symptom happen with alkaline batteries?
Lithium Ion batteries are 1.2volts
Alkaline are are 1.5volts
Rechargeable Alkaline batteries are 1.5volts

Perhaps you should switch to Rechargeable Alkaline batteries if the symptom goes away when you use alkaline batts...

Camera drains battery while off

Assuming you're fully closing the front slider cover, the power switch is activated by the front slider cover so it may not be activating the switch or sensing that the cover fully closed. Sounds like it needs a professional service.

Drained batteries

Digital cameras do use a lot of power to operate. Somethings can make the batteries die faster. Even if the batteries may have worked in other cameras after ou used them in yours could just be that the other camera requires less power to operate then yours. Turning off and on the camera or simple viewing them can use more power then usual. Try and avoid this to see if it last longer. Also, try and see if there is an auto shut of to save power when you leave the camera on. If you have an eye piece use that to take pictures instead of the display this will also save on power consumption. Also, when you know that you won't be using the camera for awhile meaning you are storing it then remove the batteries. Some electrical items even if the camera is off they can still be draining the batteries.

If these don't help then I would have it looked at especially if you are under warranty.

BLACK SCREEN, OLYMPUS FE210

You must go to a camera technician. There are some parts inside that already been loosen. That's what happened to my camera before.

S2 suddenly draining batteries rapidly

I have the same exact problem. I just now read a possible solution: try opening the battery compartment door and then closing it again to "trick" the camera into thinking it just got new batteries. There is definitely something wrong with the way the camera senses dead batteries.
