Casio Wave Ceptor 2296 watch battery replacement

I had a jeweler replace my Casio watch battery, after which the screen just said "open" and none of the buttons would work. Another jeweler had no luck either. When I called Casio they told me that the watch has to be sent in every time the battery is replaced---------something about pressurization. I can't believe they would make a watch that costs $20-$30 just to get the battery replaced. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Casio is a little backwards with technology. I guess in order to make it water proof they have to "pressurize" it. As silly as it sounds, you have to bring the watch in to Casio or a Casio dealer to get it reset.

If it's a water proof watch or water resistant then yes it might use pressure instead of an O-Ring to seal the watch from letting water inside of it. And if thats the case the watch let water in like a sponge in the current state it is in. If i were you and the watch was that important to me, i would take and send it in. Watch battery's need replacing what every 5-8 years? Over that amount of time the price really isn't too steep.

You dont change the batteries on a Wave Ceptor. These watches have a battery cell that is charged by solar power. To learn more about your watch and download a manual, etc go to:

Will the analog (hands) stop working on a Wave Ceptor when the battery is low/dead? Digital feature still works fine....watch about 4 years old

Yes, definitely analogue part will stop, because it takes more power to move gears and hands. Replace battery and you'll be OK. Rate me, plz.

Casio wave ceptor 3747

Use this link to read Direct Casio manual:

http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_manual/wat/en/qw3747.pdf

I suggest you may need to wait till the first signal is received by watch.
If all this doesn't work, then check the battery condition- it may be underpowered and need replacement. Eve if your watch is brand new, the battery may be few years old.
