Mitsubishi ws-65907 tv will not power on

I have a ws-65907 tv. When it powers on i hear a click then nothing. I checked the pico fuses and replaced the one that was bad. this did not solve the problem. I have checked all the capasitors and all seem to be ok. When i press the menu and Input button together i get 2-2. What else should i check?

Thank you for responding so quickly. The Pico fuse in the right hand side of that picture was blown. I replaced the fuse but the problem was still there. I have pulled the board and will be ordering the 2 convergence IC's. Where do you suggest ordering them from? Do you have a step by step on how to change these?

Also it appears that the center projection tube has leaked onto the board. It is right at one of the rows of resistors in front of the IC's heatsink. Can I use alcohol to clean this up?

Also I checked the two rows of resistors and they are all at 2.4 ohms I think i read somewhere these are supposed to be 3.9 ohms. Is this Correct?

SD Tech, I found your response for a WS-65809 from a couple days ago with Step by Step instructions. I assume the steps will be the same. So No need for you to retype everything. Thanks again.

One of the two pico fuses that protect the convergence chips this model uses is gone--see attached photo--

NEVER change just the fuses---if one of the two fuses is blown--the convergence chips got them-----

there are several ways to proceed from here-check the two fuses indicated in the photo and tell me if either or both are bad.

It is a mistake to just change the fuse--both of the STK-392-570 CHIPS this set uses need to be replaced.

I can answer here or if you want to post it as a premium question I will assist you there.

Your choice as to which way you want to do it--here is free and premium I get paid a small fee by the site.

let me know how you want to proceed before you do it.

The liquid is Glycol--clear liquid and very TOXIC! Only water will remove it and DO NOT TOUCH IT WITH YOUR HANDS!

As far as the Glycol goes--you have two choices--clean it off and cut a piece of cardboard and insert over the board and under the leaking crt to block it OR you have to remove the leaking tube, drain, reseal, and refill and put back--MAJOR LABOR AND TIME.

The resistors are in pairs and will read 1/2 of the combined resistance--2.2 ohms is normal.

These sets have a history of glycol leaks.

Let me know how you want to proceed.

OK, if you are satisfied with everything all you have to do is approve the solution with 4 thumbs up and the question will close.

You will still be able to ask me questions later if you need any help or further information.

I have a WS-65907 tv, it wont turn on

Mitsubishi self check: MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device"(input) and "menu" buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and two blinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.

I just replaced the 2 Convergence IC's now i have a bad pitcure

Yes, did you check the group of identical 3.9 ohm blue resistors in front of the chips? If even one is open or discolored in the middle convergence will not adjust in some area.

My Mitsubishi ws-65819 won't power up. When I use

Unplug it ,leave it unplugged for at least an hour.
now slowly plug back in , if you notice a small spark coming
from the plug when you plug it in that's normal

which means most likely the regulator or output tran is out.
is about 150.00 200.00 normal cost. no more.

If the plug doesn't spark at all when you plug it in slowly
could be a Fuse :>

Mitsubishi ws-65907

I had the same problem with my WS65907. If you know a little about electronics and how to solder, you can fix this yourself. First you're going to have to carefully remove the PC board from the TV. There are four "pico" fuses located by the regulator. check the ohms across each one. I found two of mine were "open". I replaced them for $1.49 Ea.
