my maytag side by side will not dispence any water or ice, we have water over the floor. its very hard to find a maytag technician in or around the Gold Coast, Australia, is this a major problem do I try and get it fixed or just buy a new one?

Kleenmaid Gold Coast(07) 5592 5122 you could try contacting these guys about a repair center.
They do seem to be one of the few who sell Maytag appliances, so surely they would know where you could find a service center to come and take a look at it for you.

HI,OPEN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT CHECK IF THE DISP ICE DOOR IS CLOSIN PROPERLY ALSO CHEK THE ICE MAKER FOR WATER LEAK,IF HOT AIR IS FILTERING THRU THE DISPENCER ICE DOOR WILL MAKING THE ICE BUCKET ICE TO MELT AND LEAK WATER,IF YOUR ICE MAKER IS BAD WILL LEAK WATER, IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM GET EXPERIANCES SERV TECH TO DIANOST THE PEOBLEM..
YOU COULD HAVE A BAD WATER VALVE OR YOUR TANK IS CLOGGED UP AND STOPPING THE WATER FLOW THROUGH THE LINES. MOST MODELS HAVE A TANK IN THE BACK OF THE SHELVES ON THE REFRIGERATOR SIDE DOWN AT THE BOTTOM. IT WILL BE LOCATED BEHIND A PANEL YOU WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE SHELVES AND SCREWS TO GET TO IT BUT FIRST CHECK VALVE SOME SYSTEMS HAVE MULTI VALVES WHERE ON CONTROLS THE ICE MAKER AND THE OTHER ON THE DISPENSER.
check your micro switch behind the water dispensor lever. You'll need to take the face off the ice/water dispensor to find the switch. Or could be the water valve is stuck in the open position. You'll need to replace the water valve. Hope this helps!
Texas, sounds like your water reservoir is frozen up. Remove your 2 cripser drawers, you will see the reservoir behind them. Take a hair dryer and go over the tank and tubing ends. See if the water starts flowing. I find a lot of frozen water reservoirs on these french door models. They have a insulation kit for them. Catriver.
