Magenta Color Doesn't Print

I have a Brother MFC 240C and the magenta has quit printing. This happened to another 240C I had and the Brother replaced it since it was under warranty. Now it has happened to the replacement.

I have refilled my ink cartridges. Could this be the problem? Is there a way to clear blockage?

Thanks for your reply.

I tried what you suggested and still no magenta. I even replaced the magenta cartridge and cleaned inside the printer where the cartidge plugs in and still no luck. I am at a loss now as this cartridge affects every color printed except black.

    Thanks for trying.

    Magent stopped printing.
    No error messages.
Total sudden stop - no trace of magenta.
    Have tried 6+ cleaning cycles.
Still no magenta in test or graphics.
    Dismantled similar to www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DSZNhEj3o4
but removing final printhead to clean is different. Cant see how to get print head out of cleaning station and off machine.

Brother Genuine Cartirdges????
ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc. These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

Printer unable 4F-what does this mean?

If still under warranty, I would call Brother for an RMA (return merchandise authorization) code and return the product. Why fiddle with it?

I have a Brother mfc-240c - will not print yellow

The print head is clogged. If not unclogging with cleaning process may you try to clean manualy. You need to dissasembly the hole printer to remove the print head.Put it in hot water. If you don't have a technical skills, don't try anything.
If not help just buy new printer, because the new print head will cost you as much more.

The digital display on the printer will tell you which color is low and when it needs to be replaced, either black, magenta, cyan, or yellow.

MFC-240C colr problem

No. Just buy original carts and install them. Run the manual cleaning procedure twice. Wait overnight and repeat the manual cleaning again. Should work. (..and give the compatible ones a dump)
