There could be several reasons why you are unable to select the SD/MMC card for photos on your Philips photo frame. Here are a few possibilities:
Make sure that the card is properly inserted into the card slot.
Check the format of the SD/MMC card. The photo frame may only support certain types of card formats.
Make sure that the SD/MMC card is not full or damaged. If the card is full or damaged, it may not be recognized by the photo frame.
Try a different SD/MMC card to see if the issue is with the card itself or with the photo frame.
Reset the photo frame to its default settings and try again. To reset the photo frame, remove the card and unplug the power cord. Press and hold the "Reset" button (usually located on the back or bottom of the frame) for 10 seconds, then release it. Reconnect the power cord and insert the card.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the photo frame itself. In this case, you may need to contact Philips customer support for further assistance.
In Windows, click on Start/Computer. A window opens showing all the drives connected to the computer. Under "removable drives" locate the SD card. Hover your mouse pointer over the SD card icon and it should tell you how much free space is on the card. If necessary, delete some photos or other data to make more space available so you can add the photos you want. If there's already plenty of space, try formatting the SD card in either ex-FAT or NTFS format. Then try copying the photos again. If the SD card does NOT in appear in removeable drives then the SD card may be faulty. Try a different SD card.
The maximum size of an SD card is 2GB, and the 9FF2 will support SD cards of that size. The 9FF2 will not support SDHC cards, which start at 4GB and go up.
Hello,
the Philips 9FF2 photo frame has an internal rechargeable battery inside the photo frame. So in other words, the Philips 9FF2 photo frame needs to be disassembled for you to be able to access the battery, then make necessary replacement. With the Philips 9FF2 photo frame turned off and remove from the charger, get a screw driver, use it to disassemble the unit to take the back cover apart in order to gain access to the internal part to get to the battery. Remove the battery, take it to any electronics part store in your area and get a battery replacement. It is not necessary that you get a Philips battery, all you need is a battery with the same size and volt/watt. I hope the above is clear. Regards.

I have the same issue with mine. It is the rechargeable battery that is expanding. It looks a pretty unsafe to me, so I've unplugged it. The issue appears to have been reported here: http://www.saferproducts.gov/ViewIncident/1389002
It seems that it's not about the size of file or resolution of the photo!
I was given one of these yesterday. I copied my photos on to a 64mb SD card of unknown make. They display fine on my PC but on my Photo Frame I get the "no playable file" message. I tried changing file size etc but no good.
As a last resort I copied my same photos on to a 2GB SanDisk SD card and tried that. It works fine. So my guess is that these photo frames are picky on what SD card they'll accept.
